    Job Description

    The Executive Producer is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the assigned daily show. The ideal candidate can work in a fast paced, entertainment/news environment and possesses a strong leadership, journalistic background.

    Job Duties:

    • Leads the production team, including producers and writers from the development phase through the end of the project
    • Supervises correspondents’ scripts and sends revisions
    • Generates ideas for stories and coverage
    • Works collectively to execute and implement new trainings for the entertainment team
    • Works closely with Executives across the Entertainment Division and other departments, as needed
    • Works closely with digital team to create new content, cross promote stories and special projects
    • Coaches and develops current and aspiring producers
    • Builds and maintains a positive environment with team
    • Responsible for effectively and efficiently solving problems related to production and programming issues
    • Facilitates the necessary approvals, materials, and information to the Telemundo departments including Human Resources, EHS, Finance, Programming, Marketing, Ad Sales, and Digital Teams
    • Ensures that all work is done under the technical guidelines and operations procedures of Telemundo News’ infrastructure and adheres to EHS/OSHA regulations and procedures
    • Participates in compliance processes, helps keep production costs in balance, overtime costs, in partnership with Finance, and the Production teams
    • Follows policies, applicable laws, and regulations to protect his/her own health and safety as well as that of other workers, the public, and the environment
    • Works under the direct supervision of the VP, Entertainment & Content and is responsible for completing any other tasks as assigned by the supervisor
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    Basic Requirements:

    • Must have knowledge of Hispanic morning show audience, the challenges presented by this particular time period and the kind of stories that viewers find interesting and compelling
    • Minimum of 10 years' experience working in television production and development within Spanish Language market.
    • Track record in production and/or program content development.
    • Experience in the entertainment production process, including production costs, timelines, and production cycles.
    • Must be willing to work breaking news, early morning, overnight and weekend shifts

    Desired Characteristics:

    • Ability to multitask and work in a fast paced, dead-line driven environment
    • The ideal candidate will have passion, creativity, and strong organizational skills
    • Must be a self-starter, be highly proactive; and have a strong editorial voice both in the editorial meetings and in the newsroom
    • Must have strong knowledge of show production; be able to showcase using content and graphics; and be able to execute the vision of the television station consistently in the newscast
    • Must have strong writing and storytelling skills, as well as a strong ability to copy edit reporter scripts
    • Must have a strong understanding and ability to incorporate the web into daily coverage
    • The ideal candidate is a natural leader

    Additional Requirements:

    • This position is required to be performed full-time from an NBCUniversal-designated worksite.
