    Job Description

    Telemundo 52 Los Angeles is seeking a bilingual News Executive Producer who leads with innovation, creativity, and editorial excellence. This role is responsible for the overall content, quality, and execution of newscasts across multiple platforms- from broadcast to digital, streaming, and social media. The ideal candidate combines creative leadership, journalistic integrity, and strategic vision to elevate storytelling, drive audience engagement, and inspire teams to deliver modern, impactful journalism that reflects the uniqueness of the Southern California Latino Community.

    Key Responsibilities

    Breaking News Leadership

    • Lead all aspects of breaking news and live event coverage, ensuring speed, accuracy, and editorial integrity.
    • Coordinate with NBC4 and digital team to align coverage strategies across linear, streaming, and social platforms.

    Innovation

    • Incorporate emerging tools for news **** production, interactive graphics, and immersive video formats.
    • Encourage creative visual presentation, including vertical video and social-first storytelling that expands audience reach.

    Editorial, Content & Enterprise Direction

    • Oversee the editorial and visual quality of all newscasts and special projects, ensuring consistency, creativity, and impact.
    • Identify and lead coverage of original, enterprise, and in-depth stories that reflect the priorities and experiences of Southern California’s Latino community.
    • Shape compelling rundowns that balance breaking news urgency with storytelling depth, context, and visual excellence.
    • Guide long-term editorial planning to ensure continuity and alignment across dayparts and platforms.
    • Collaborate with anchors, reporters, and producers to elevate writing, pacing, and delivery.
    • Monitor timing and pacing to maintain broadcast flow and avoid overruns.
    • Develop distinctive, audience-driven coverage that differentiates Telemundo 52 in the Los Angeles market.

    Duopoly Collaboration

    • Partner closely with NBC4 Los Angeles on breaking news, enterprise coverage, and major specials.
    • Lead joint editorial meetings to align priorities, share resources, and strengthen duopoly impact.
    • Foster a unified culture of innovation, collaboration, and journalistic excellence across both newsrooms.

    Leadership & Communication

    • Lead, coach, and inspire a dynamic team of producers, associate producers, and reporters.
    • Set clear expectations, provide constructive feedback, and recognize outstanding performance.
    • Promote a culture of creativity, accountability, and continuous learning.
    • Partner with management to recruit, train, and grow future newsroom leaders.
    • Serve as the central liaison between editorial, technical, and production teams.
    • Communicate clearly with directors, graphics, audio, and field crews to ensure flawless execution.

    Audience Engagement & Performance Insights

    • Use audience research, ratings, and analytics to inform editorial and production decisions.
    • Collaborate with research and digital strategy teams to identify viewing trends and engagement opportunities.
    • Continuously refine storytelling approaches to meet evolving audience behaviors and preferences.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Interested candidates must submit a resume/CV online to be considered
    • Minimum of 5–10 years of experience in a medium-to-large market newsroom, with a proven track record in leadership or executive producer roles.
    • Must be willing to work from in Universal City, California.
    • Familiarity with modern newsroom systems (e.g. Dalet, Adobe Premier) broadcast technology, and digital content platforms, with a pioneering spirit to learn and implement emerging technologies.
    • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
    • Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States.
    • Must be at least 18 years of age.
    • Must have an active Driver’s License and good driving record.

    Desired Characteristics:

    • Ability to develop and execute content strategies that strengthen newscast competitiveness, deepen community connection, and expand audience engagement.
    • Proven leadership, team management, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage complex projects and deadlines under pressure.
    • Exceptional editorial judgment, strong Spanish writing and copy-editing skills, and deep understanding of journalistic ethics and standards
    • Fluency in English and Spanish highly preferred; ability to edit and lead in both languages is a strong plus.
    • Ability to think creatively and strategically about news content, audience engagement, and competitive positioning.
    • Demonstrate clear and decisive judgment under pressure during breaking news
    • Drive innovation in storytelling and showcasing across platforms.

    Additional Requirements:

    Required On-Site: This position is required to be performed full-time from an NBCUniversal-designated worksite.

    Salary range: $125,000 to $170,000 (Bonus Eligible)
