  • Responsibilities

    A multi-line commercial insurance carrier is seeking an experienced Executive Risk Consultant to support its Middle Market Property portfolio across the Northeast and MidAtlantic region.

     

    This role is designed for a senior-level loss prevention professional with deep expertise in property risk evaluation, mitigation strategy development, and underwriting partnership. The position plays a critical role in driving profitability, strengthening client relationships, and advancing disciplined property risk management practices.

     

    Candidates should be located in New Jersey or New York, with the ability to travel periodically within the Northeast/MidAtlantic region (CT, RI, MA, PA, MD, DE, VA). Travel includes primarily day trips with 1–3 overnight trips per month.


    Key Responsibilities

    • Conduct on-site prospective and renewal risk engineering surveys for middle market accounts

    • Deliver property conservation and risk improvement services to existing insureds

    • Partner closely with underwriting teams to evaluate and grow the property book of business

    • Provide consultative guidance on NFPA compliance and fire protection systems

    • Perform and interpret NLE and MFL calculations

    • Assess sprinkler system hydraulic design and overall fire protection adequacy

    • Identify and mitigate special hazards property exposures

    • Conduct loss analysis and root cause evaluations

    • Develop and implement tailored client service and risk improvement plans

    • Participate in joint underwriting and marketing visits for large accounts and prospects

    • Utilize enterprise reporting platforms (e.g., LC 360 or similar systems)


    Qualifications

    • 12+ years of experience in multi-line insurance loss prevention

    • Deep background in Property risk engineering

    • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, fire protection, safety, or related discipline

    • CSP and/or CFPS certification preferred

    • Strong working knowledge of NFPA codes and standards

    • Experience evaluating sprinkler system design and fire protection engineering controls

    • Strong consultative, analytical, and communication skills

    • Ability to collaborate effectively with underwriting and claims leadership
