    A prestigious restaurant group operating a high-end sushi brand in San Francisco is seeking an experienced Executive Sushi Chef to lead its sushi program.

    This is a leadership position responsible for maintaining exceptional, Michelin-level standards while overseeing sushi operations, menu development, ingredient sourcing, cost control, and team development.

    The ideal candidate has extensive experience in high-end Japanese cuisine and sushi, strong leadership skills, and a commitment to delivering an exceptional dining experience.

    Key Responsibilities

    Maintain the highest standards for sushi and sashimi quality, preparation, and presentation

    Develop seasonal menus, omakase offerings, and new sushi concepts

    Oversee seafood and ingredient sourcing while maintaining strong quality standards

    Manage food costs, inventory, and waste control

    Recruit, train, develop, and manage sushi kitchen staff

    Improve kitchen operations, workflow, and overall efficiency

    Maintain strict food safety, sanitation, and quality-control standards

    Ensure consistency and excellence across all sushi offerings

    Collaborate with restaurant management to maintain an exceptional guest experience

    Qualifications

    Minimum 4 years of professional sushi chef experience

    Previous experience as a Head Chef, Executive Chef, or similar culinary leadership role

    Experience in high-end sushi restaurants or Michelin-level dining environments strongly preferred

    Strong knowledge of traditional Japanese sushi techniques, fish preparation, and Japanese cuisine

    Proven experience managing and developing kitchen teams

    Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills

    Japanese and English bilingual skills preferred; ability to communicate effectively in English required

    Compensation

    $100,000–$120,000 per year

    Final compensation will be determined based on experience and qualifications.
