    YOU ALSO HAVE 2+ YEARS OF EXPERIENCE AS A SALES MANAGER IN A FITNESS CLUB ENVIRONMENT COMBINED WITH A MINIMUM OF 2 YEARS OF DIRECT EMPLOYEE SUPERVISORY EXPERIENCE (IDEALLY YOU HAVE MANAGED BETWEEN 3-6 TEAM MEMBERS). You are experienced at directly managing sales team members/front desk team members and function as a “jack of all trades”. You thrive on keeping the sales team accountable and ensuring you exceed goals. You are well-rounded, organized and love to contribute forward-looking ideas.     GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

    The Sales Manager at River North Gym will lead and direct sales operations at our newest club by following proven systems, providing a world-class member experience and fostering a collaborative team member environment while contributing to the club's financial success. The Sales Manager will coordinate, supervise, develop, implement, promote and regularly evaluate sales processes that will positively impact the club’s performance. The Sales Manager (alongside management team members) will maintain a relentless focus on profitability, and meet or exceed the monthly, quarterly and/or annual goals.

    EXPECTATIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Lead with integrity, demonstrate sound personal business ethics, be genuine, be kind, and show others that you care.
    • Build trust with entire staff through direct, open communication and consistent checkpoints.
    • Provide leadership and direction to ensure the team achieves goals in a way that reflects the company values.
    • Utilize CRM tool based on best practices already set forth and ensure sales team is accountable for doing the same.
    • Use membership management/billing system for all things membership including but not limited to completing member agreements, ringing up sales, completing PT agreements, documenting notes in member profiles, etc.
    • Check in with sales team daily from a performance, leadership and sales perspective; pivot and shift focus quickly to address needs as they arise.
    • Monitor KPIs to ensure you and your team are consistently achieving or exceeded daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly sales goals/expectations.
    • Provide ongoing feedback, instruction, guidance, and recognition to sales team members.
    • Interview potential sales team members (Membership Sales Advisors) and front desk team members (Membership Experience Ambassadors).
    • Lead weekly sales meetings and attend weekly management team status meetings.
    • Initiate ad-hoc meetings with appropriate team members to strategize, generate ideas, create action plans, devise promotions, and execute against agreed upon deadlines.
    • Conduct ongoing training, role-playing and coaching activities to ensure sales team complies with procedures, understands policies, and provides exceptional fitness and membership experiences.
    • Wear many hats inclusive of giving tours, performing sales presentations, selling personal training, performing front desk/housekeeping/maintenance duties, etc. Be a utility player with a relentless focusing on exceeding sales goals.
    • Lead by example to deliver the RNG mission of making our employees, members and community happy, healthy and better.
    • Possess a passion for fitness, sales, people and community engagement.
    • Provide daily and weekly recaps on behalf of club sales performance.
    • Ensure achievement of sales and retention goals, business objectives and facility profitability.
    • Conduct regular staff and service training sessions (must create a schedule and adhere to this).
    • Conduct 90-day reviews and annual performance evaluations for all fitness staff (may need to conduct 30 or 60-day reviews).
    • Recognize strong performance and apply discipline when necessary per RNG disciplinary policies.

    COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

    · Create and implement guerilla marketing activities within the community. Develop schedules and deliver according to plan.

    · Get out in the community and identify creative ways to gauge interest and sell memberships to groups.

    · Set up and coordinate and/or lead events whether awareness-focused, lead-focused, educational-focused, etc. (i.e., River North resident and business events, nutrition seminars, career fairs, health fairs, and more).

    · Recruit team members and create/share detailed event plans for all events. Document event results and reflect upon what goes well/ what can be improved.

    · Foster existing relationships and build new relationships with community organizations, residential buildings, local businesses and companies within the 600 West Chicago Ave. building.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • High school diploma or equivalent required.
    • Four Year College Degree preferred.
    • Minimum 2 years of sales leadership and management experience in the fitness industry required.
    • Minimum of 7 years professional work experience; preferably in a sales role.
    • Must have proven experience hiring, supporting and retaining top performing sales or account management professionals.
    • Must have proven track record in leading teams to achieve sales goals in a fast paced and competitive environment.
    • Must have hands-on experience with fitness club management software such as ABC Financial (DataTrak), Club OS, or a similar platform). ABC FINANCIAL IS A HUGE PLUS!
    • Must have CRM experience (i.e., Gym Sales, Salesforce, etc.) and require little training on any new software. Must have utilized CRM for lead-generation, lead-tracking and member follow-up purposes. GYM SALES IS A HUGE PLUS!
    • Must be able to achieve a sustainable balance between member relations (front of house) and club business (back of house). We are not looking for someone to sit behind a computer all day.
    • Must be able to learn company software quickly and train others during onboarding process.
    • Must have experience creating budgets, forecasting, and managing the P&L as well as creating trend reports or demonstrated math analytical / ratio skills.
    • Must be an advanced user of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.) and Google (Gmail, Google Drive, Google Calendar, etc.).
    • Must be comfortable utilizing internal communication tools (Slack, Skype, etc.) and document repository tools (Basecamp, Quip, Box, etc.)
    • Must be comfortable with hosting events, guerrilla marketing strategies and training others on best practices.
    • Must think outside of the box.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    • Ability to work in club office; move about the club floors and rooms; review, revise, create club paperwork; communicate with employees, members, and the public.
    • Occasionally required to demonstrate or explain proper physical fitness activities, techniques and procedures.
    • Ability to communicate telephonically and electronically with members and prospective members.
    • Ability to access and operate company computer system including preparation of documents, entering data into computer system, reading reports from a computer data base or email system.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT

    • While performing the duties of this job, you will be regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.
    • The noise level in the environment is occasionally loud.
    • Ability to work a varied schedule to support the needs of the business, including frequent extended workdays, and weekends and holidays may be required.
