    JOB SUMMARY

    Provides assistance installing, implementing, maintaining and upgrading internal information systems including network infrastructure, end-user workstations, servers and business system applications. Maintains an inventory of all equipment, hardware, software and supplies. Provides end-user support for hardware and software utilizing ticketing system. Maintains network and application configuration following site configuration management policies. Performs other IT related tasks as assigned.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

    Duties to include:

    • Software and hardware installation
    • Workstation deployment and redeployment
    • System Backup and Data recovery operations
    • Security policy enforcement and maintenance
    • Maintains IT Inventory supplies
    • User Administration
    • IT asset administration
    • Maintaining, Upgrading and Configuring Operating System
    • Troubleshooting network and system problems
    • Basic network and server administration
    • Administer telecom system
    • Vendor interface and order placement/tracking

    Required Skills Required Experience

    QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS   (Skills, Knowledge and Abilities required)

     

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    Bachelor’s degree in a technology major from a regionally accredited college or equivalent; and at least two (2) years related experience.  Familiar with standard IS concepts, practices and procedures. Familiarity with DOD security principles regarding data security while in storage and in transit.

     

    COMPUTER & NETWORK SKILLS

    Working knowledge of:

    • Windows 7 and 10 Operating Systems
    • Windows Server 2008 and 2012
    • Active Directory User, Computer, and Group administration
    • DNS configuration
    • Group Policy Management
    • Folder sharing and permissions
    • Firewall access control lists
    • VOIP system administration
    • Networking concepts
    • Cabling
    • Basic cybersecurity principles

     

    TOOLS/EQUIPMENT USED ON THE JOB

    1. Telephone. Fax.  Copier.  Computer repair tools.

     

    PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS

    LIGHT WORK:             

    Position involves sitting, standing and/or walking.  Position requires ability to frequently exert up to 20 pounds of force to move/lift objects and occasionally exert up to 30 pounds of force to carry, lift, push, pull and otherwise move objects.  Light to moderate lifting required.  Must be able to handle fluctuating workload and multiple priorities.  Must keep up with latest information technology as relevant to MBI systems and applications.  Extended hours, overtime and weekends occasionally required.

     

    Extensive sitting at desk and reading computer screen.  Often required to deliver and install workstations in end-user’s office space - some moving of furniture, PC’s required.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms.  Will require regular use of computer and keyboard.   In this position, the employee is occasionally required to stand, stoop, kneel, reach, crouch or crawl.  Travel is occasionally required.  Accountability to established schedules and/or time pressures required.

     

    WORK ENVIRONMENT

    The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

     

    Most work performed in an air-conditioned office environment.  Employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts.
