APPALACHIAN CONSERVATION CORPS:
Appalachian Conservation Corps (ACC) works to connect young people to critical conservation service work across Appalachia and neighboring communities in Virginia, West Virginia, Ohio, Maryland, DC and Pennsylvania. As a corps program, ACC partners with public land managers to identify, plan and complete projects that improve public access, habitat quality and economic development. ACC is a program of Conservation Legacy, a nationwide network of conservation service organizations founded to move forward the legacy of the Civilian Conservation Corps.
Our programs focus on place-based learning, life skills development, appreciation of diversity, civic responsibility and career development. ACC also provides an opportunity for members to learn about the local environment, environmental issues and introduces individuals to recreation and resource management careers.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Field Supervisor’s primary role is to provide leadership, technical, and logistical field support to all ACC conservation crews. The position requires a significant field presence to assist crews with project needs, as well as management of the ACC shop. Field visits cover a multi-state footprint including, but not limited to, VA, WV, PA, and OH. Field time will consist of day crew visits near the ACC office and overnight visits to camping crews. The schedule for this position is based on dynamic organizational needs. This individual will be expected to work as a member of a team and independently.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Regular overnight travel and non-traditional work hours, inclusive of weekend and evening hours. To successfully perform essential functions the Field Supervisor is required to sit, stand, walk, and communicate. The Field Supervisor may be required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl on an infrequent basis. He/she must be able to operate office equipment, telephone, and computer and reach with hands and arms. The Field Supervisor may be required to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted. The ability to drive an organizational vehicle is also required. REASONABLE ACCOMMODATIONS MAY BE MADE FOR QUALIFIED INDIVIDUALS WITH DISABILITIES TO PERFORM THE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS.

Required Skills Required Experience
Ideal consultants should possess the following:
Experience conducting insurance casualty/risk assessment surveys
Thorough understanding of Workers’ Compensation, General Liability, Property and Auto Liability Coverage
Understanding of construction classifications
Home PC or Laptop with Microsoft Word, high-speed internet access, and digital camera for taking property photos
Ability to observe business operations and evaluate management practices to determine if safety issues and hazards affecting insurance premium are adequately controlled
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to organize, manage, and travel within a geographic territory of assignments
Strong sense of self-motivation and the ability to work independently from home and in the field
Ability to successfully meet customer and company time service standards
Ability to maintain product quality according to industries standards and specific client requirements
Strong Organizational and Time Management skills
