    We're seeking a Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician to safely maintain, troubleshoot, repair complex equipment breakdowns involving mechanical and electrical aspects of machinery, and support set up of paper converting production machines in a 24/7 operation.

     

    Essential Responsibilities:

    • Ensure compliance with OSHA and Company safety rules and regulations; communicate all non-compliance to immediate supervisor / manager.
    • Read and follow all Standard Operating Procedures, Work Instructions, Work Practices, Product Standards, and Work Orders to perform assigned tasks.
    • Maintain plant support systems in working order, i.e., heat, air, fans, air compressors and dryers, etc.
    • Perform preventative maintenance and cleaning of production and facility equipment.
    • Ensure scheduled maintenance tasks / activities performed on equipment meet or exceed the manufacturers requirements for quality and reliability.
    • Perform mechanical skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting for equipment / facility and properly completing repairs as required.
    • Read and understand equipment manuals, technical references, machine drawings, schematic diagrams, and work orders to perform required maintenance.
    • Ensure maintenance spaces and areas within maintenance work boundaries are free from excess tools, materials, debris, and other items not in use or that are unnecessary for operating and maintaining production equipment.
    • Ensure manufacturer warranties remain effective by adhering to necessary safeguards and guidelines.
    • Proper use of test equipment to logically troubleshoot electrical issues.
    • Construct, assemble, and install electrical components, panels, and enclosures including conduit bending and wire pulling in accordance with applicable code standards.
    • Basic understanding of electrical theory and principles of operation, electrical distribution, electrical components, electrical installation fundamentals, and industrial code restrictions.
    • Assist in developing data acquisition and reporting.
    • Provide process control and automation programming and troubleshooting expertise.
    • Work in conjunction with maintenance and operations staff to maximize machine center performance and improvement.
    • Basic understanding of instrumentation, sensors, test equipment, variable frequency drives, and PLC's including component configuration requirements preferred.
    • Design and implement/manage the update of control systems from old technology to new technology (such as Allen-Bradley PLC-5 systems to ControlLogix).
    • Upgrade and fine tune control systems to improve equipment performance.
    • Provide support to operations in running machines at centerline conditions, standard speeds, etc. to maximize efficiency and productivity.
    • Evaluate and address downtime issues promptly and effectively utilizing machine instrumentation and data monitoring.
    • Troubleshoot network communication control issues using diagnostic equipment.

     

    Education, Knowledge, & Experience

    • High School or equivalent, post-secondary education is desirable, such as vocational training or course work in engineering technology.
    • Bachelor's degree in a technical field a plus.
    • Welding a plus.
    • Computer Literate: To utilize the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and other applications in conjunction with the assigned tasks / activities (training will be provided).
    • A record of stable & continuous employment, including a minimum of 3 years manufacturing experience, preference given to packaging / converting experience.
    • Certified in Electrical / Electronic field with a minimum of 2 years classroom / lab or combination experience a plus.
    • Journeyman status electrical license a plus.
    • At least 3 years of PLC and HMI programming experience a plus.
    • Comprehensive understanding of electrical theory and principles of operation, electrical distribution (MCC's, Transformers), PLC's including advanced programming, variable frequency drives, AC/DC motors and their controls a plus.
    • Ability reading logic in DCS, MDC, or PLCs, and advanced knowledge of controller-based hardware and controls programming software a plus.
    • Comprehensive knowledge of pneumatic and electronic instrumentation preferred.
    • Understanding of wireless technology implementation preferred.

     

    General Requirements / Skills & Abilities

    • Operate material handling equipment (rotating forklift, box clamp, roll clamp, etc.) safely and effectively, or the ability to obtain passing score on classroom training and satisfactory pass skills test.
    • Visual acuity and excellent observation skills.
    • Ability to work rotating 12-hour shifts, OT, & weekends / holidays.
    • Ability to work in a hot, humid, noisy, & high-volume manufacturing environment, including ability to climb, bend, & stoop.
    • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders and stairs, and stand for continuous periods of time.
    • Perform record keeping as required.

     

    Relocation Package: After 60 days of working, based on where they move from and position's with hourly higher than $25hr. Discussed Between Client & Candidate. Range $5k-10K. Day Shift - 1 opening for 12 hour shift 7am to 7pm and 7pm to 7am and 2 openings for Monday-Friday 7-3

     

    Starting pay rate: $30.00 per hour
