    I. Position Summary:

    The Guest Experience Receptionist reports directly to the VP/GM of CMCC and the Director of Events. This position is responsible for answering incoming phone calls and greeting visitors to the Convention Center office suite. The position is also responsible for assigned projects.

    Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

    Responsible for ensuring that the incoming calls are answered, and the receptionist desk is occupied during normal business hours.

    Oversees Guest Experience Concierge and ensure Concierge completes all tasks when Event Director is not available.

    Responsible for giving event information, directions, and information to callers.

    Responsible for greeting visitors.

    Responsible for sorting mail received through the daily delivery.

    Responsible for routing phone calls to the appropriate person.

    Responsible for inventory management for the staff breakroom and for receptionist position according to corporate standard inventory list.

    Maintain Guest Services Manual with current staff names, contact information, emergency response information, Spectra staff, and local info. (restaurants, hotels, transportation, USC, City and Regions)

    Communicate to employees via radio when appropriate.

    Responsible for accepting FedEx, UPS, etc. Packages and notifying the appropriate people the packages have been received.

    Distribute Visitors Bureau information as needed.

    Distribute lost and found items to security department and redirect related inquiries appropriately.

    Interacts with all department heads, all employees, and external vendors.

    Required to attend meetings and organizational training, i.e. Crises training, First Aide, etc. and maintain knowledge of emergency response procedures.

    Present in a visible location at the “Face of CMCC”

    Wear CMCC logo shirts and dress appropriately.

    Keep receptionist desk items organized and invisible to visitors.

    All other duties as assigned.

    III. Skills:

    Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required.

    Must be computer literate.

    Must have good telephone etiquette.

    Must be able to interact with people from various backgrounds.

    Must have patience and adaptability to changes.

    Excellent customer service and positive attitude.

    IV. Education/Qualifications Required:

    High School Diploma is necessary with 3-5 years’ receptionist experience, or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
