Experienced Construction Materials Runner / Field Support Associate
Big Dog Construction is looking for a reliable, experienced, and highly organized individual to join our team as a Materials Runner / Field Support Associate. This is not an entry-level role — we are only considering candidates with at least 5 years of experience in the construction industry and a strong background in materials handling, purchasing, and job site support.
Position Overview:
As our Materials Runner, you will play a critical role in keeping our projects moving. You’ll be responsible for sourcing, picking up, and delivering construction materials to job sites, often on short notice. You'll need to understand construction materials, communicate effectively with suppliers and job site crews, and be proactive in solving logistical issues.
✅ Requirements:
Minimum 5 years of construction experience (Required – applicants without this will not be considered)
Proven experience in picking up, shopping for, and delivering materials
Clean driving record and valid driver’s license
Strong knowledge of construction materials, tools, and supplies
Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in a physically demanding environment
Punctual, dependable, and professional
Great communication and organizational skills
Must be able to follow instructions, manage time independently, and multitask effectively
Reliable truck/vehicle a plus (but not required)
Key Responsibilities:
Pick up and deliver construction materials to various job sites
Communicate with project managers to fulfill material needs daily
Shop for materials at local vendors (Home Depot, specialty suppliers, etc.)
Maintain organized logs of receipts and deliveries
Assist with returns and exchanges
Keep vehicle and equipment organized and clean
Occasionally assist with small job site tasks, debris removal, or light cleanup
Be the reliable “go-to” between our office, suppliers, and field teams
Schedule & Compensation:
Full-time position
Monday–Friday (occasional Saturdays if needed)
Pay based on experience, with opportunities for growth
Must be local and familiar with Monmouth County
