We are searching for an analytically minded auto mechanic to help our repair shop’s customers resolve issues with their vehicles’ performance, structure, appearance, and functionality. Our ideal candidate is comfortable communicating with customers about their vehicles’ performance and maintenance history. You’ll be tasked with inspecting automobiles’ mechanical components, systems, and parts to determine their necessary fixes. You’ll also maintain repair shop equipment and prepare cost estimates. Responsibilities: • Keep organized vehicle repairs, maintenance, and service history records. • Engaging in learning opportunities to update job knowledge and technical skills • Complete preventive maintenance work on vehicles, including oil changes, air conditioning service, filling fluids, and replacing brake pads, spark plugs, and batteries • Source and remediate mechanical problems and malfunction codes that are identified in the vehicle's mechanical systems, electrical system, and electronic systems • Work with auto mechanic team members to determine vehicle problems and solutions • Perform routine maintenance and inspections on our diesel tow trucks • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues • Keep service records up to date • Help us keep the fleet reliable, safe, and on the road Qualifications: • Required state-issued driver’s license • Strong manual dexterity and proficiency with hand tools and other repair shop equipment is necessary • Strong work ethic and excellent communication skills are necessary • An associate's degree from a vocational or technical school and/or ASE certification are a plus • Possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent • 3–7 years of experience working on diesel trucks (towing industry experience is a plus) • Solid knowledge of diesel engines, brakes, suspension, electrical systems, etc. • Ability to work independently and efficiently • Must have a valid driver’s license (CDL preferred, but not required) • Must provide your own tools Compensation: $30 - $35 hourly
