Our firm represents employees in meaningful cases against some of the largest companies in California and across the country. We are looking for an experienced Legal Assistant who is organized, detail-oriented, and ready to support a busy litigation team handling complex employment matters.
This is a strong opportunity for someone who wants to grow in plaintiff-side employment litigation and work closely with attorneys on active cases from intake through resolution.
Position Summary
The Employment & Class Action Legal Assistant will provide administrative and litigation support to attorneys handling individual employment cases, class actions, and PAGA matters.
The ideal candidate has experience with California civil litigation, court filings, calendaring, client communication, discovery support, and case management. This role requires someone who can manage deadlines, stay organized, communicate professionally, and help keep cases moving efficiently.
Responsibilities
Provide daily administrative and litigation support to attorneys
Prepare, proofread, format, and revise legal documents, correspondence, pleadings, notices, declarations, subpoenas, and legal forms
Maintain electronic and physical case files
Track litigation deadlines, court dates, statutes of limitation, and filing deadlines
Calendar hearings, depositions, mediations, arbitrations, meetings,handle client calls and emails
Prepare documents for electronic filing in California state and federal courts
File documents through One Legal, File & ServeXpress, PACER, and other e-filing systems
Prepare proofs of service and coordinate service of process
Assist with discovery, document productions, exhibits, deposition materials, and discovery logs
Communicate professionally with clients, attorneys, vendors, opposing counsel, court reporters, interpreters, and process servers
Request, organize, and maintain employment records, personnel files, payroll records, wage statements, and supporting documents
Assist with class action and PAGA matters, including large document sets, confidential employee information, class administrator coordination, mediation preparation, and settlement support
Keep case management systems updated with deadlines, notes, documents, and case activity
Qualifications
Required
3+ years of California civil litigation experience
Experience supporting litigation attorneys
Knowledge of California court filing procedures and litigation deadlines
Strong proofreading, formatting, and document preparation skills
Excellent organization and time management skills
Ability to manage multiple cases, deadlines, and attorney requests
Professional written and verbal communication skills
High level of discretion and confidentiality
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Preferred
Experience with California employment litigation
Experience with class action and PAGA matters
Experience with trial preparation, mediation preparation, or settlement support
Bilingual Spanish preferred
Associate’s degree, Bachelor’s degree, Legal Assistant Certificate, or equivalent experience
Technical Skills
