We are seeking a Family Law Litigation Associate Attorney to manage active case litigation, conduct legal research, draft pleadings, maintain client relationships, and provide strategic legal counsel. Benefits • Medical, Dental, and Vision coverage (available immediately) • 401(k) eligibility after one year of employment • Paid Time Off • Performance-based bonus opportunities • Continuing legal education and professional development support Responsibilities: • Resolve cases efficiently by using communicating effectively with and working alongside senior attorneys and paralegals • Conduct legal research, prepare for and attend hearings and/or other legal proceedings, and provide legal counsel with the help of senior associate attorneys • Maintain client files in an organized fashion to ensure up-to-date information is handy for other attorneys, paralegals and support staff • Analyze conflicts in legal matters, advise clients on solutions, and negotiate on behalf of clients • Draft documents such as correspondence, pleadings, motions, briefs, affidavits, settlement agreements, and contracts to be used proceedings and contract negotiations Case Strategy & Client Representation • Conduct thorough client needs assessments to understand goals, priorities, and concerns • Develop and implement strategic case plans aligned with client objectives and budgets • Represent clients in court hearings, conferences, and trials • Advocate for client interests through effective negotiation and litigation strategy Legal Research & Drafting • Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, settlement agreements, and legal correspondence • Conduct legal research to support litigation strategy and case development • Prepare persuasive filings that strengthen the client’s legal position Client Communication • Maintain proactive communication with clients regarding case status and expectations • Provide clear legal guidance and strategic recommendations • Manage sensitive family law matters with professionalism and empathy Case Management & Collaboration • Maintain organized and accurate case files • Ensure matters progress efficiently and deadlines are met • Work collaboratively with attorneys, legal staff, and court personnel • Mentor and support junior staff where appropriate Performance & Accountability • Meet and exceed firm billable hour expectations • Contribute to a culture of accountability, professionalism, and client service • Support the firm’s mission and operational goals Qualifications: • Applicants must have successfully passed the state bar exam • Has a Juris Doctor (J.D. degree) from an accredited law school • Willingness to learn from senior attorneys to meet our client needs and grow our client base • Solid communication skills and problem-solving skills required in order to work with clients, staff members and senior attorneys • Active member of the American Bar Association (ABA) • Minimum 3–5 years of Family Law experience (required) • Trial and litigation experience strongly preferred • Licensed to practice law in Pennsylvania • Strong understanding of family law procedures and litigation strategy • Ability to manage billable hours effectively in a fast-paced environment • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities • High attention to detail and organizational skills Preferred Attributes • Familiarity with ALL Counties, but specifically Allegheny and Cambria County courts and procedures • Resides in or is willing to commute to Sewickley, PA • Strong courtroom confidence and litigation mindset • Empathetic approach when working with clients in emotionally complex situations • Ability to balance fairness and strong client advocacy • Interest in long-term growth and leadership within the firm Compensation: $100,000 - $150,000 yearly
