Responsibilities: The Associate Attorney will be responsible for assisting clients with all stages of family law cases, including case preparation, client communication, discovery, negotiation, court hearings, and trial preparation. Responsibilities may include: • The ability to effectively manage a fast-moving and high-volume caseload • The ability to effectively advocate and negotiate in highly stressful and emotional situations • Conduct legal research and create legal documents, including correspondences, motions, pleadings, legal contracts, affidavits, and settlement proposals with the assistance of your paralegal • Represent clients in court hearings and other proceedings as needed • Assist clients in determining a proper solution to legal conflicts and determining the best course of action • Keep client files properly organized and up-to-date with the assistance of your paralegal • Meeting with clients and providing legal guidance regarding family law matters • Drafting pleadings, motions, discovery, proposed orders, and other legal documents • Preparing for and attending hearings, mediations, conferences, and trials • Communicating with opposing counsel, court staff, clients, and third parties • Reviewing case files and developing legal strategies • Managing deadlines, court dates, and client expectations • Advocating for clients in custody, divorce, support, protective order, and DCS-related matters • Working closely with paralegals, legal assistants, and other attorneys Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have: • Ability to work with our team of attorneys, paralegals, and staff to best serve client needs and grow client base • 3+ years of experience in a variety of family law cases • Ability to handle attorney administrative responsibilities such as billing and invoicing • The drive to constantly strive to become a stronger litigator and team player! • An active license to practice law in the State of Indiana • A strong interest in family law litigation • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail • Confidence, professionalism, and a desire to grow as a litigator • A team-oriented mindset • Strong work ethic and willingness to learn • Courtroom experience preferred, but not required Compensation: $100,000 yearly plus bonus DOE
