Our attorneys and paralegals are highly experienced and fully integrated, but our caseload continues to expand. We need someone who can step in immediately, take ownership of their role, and keep cases moving. Family law experience is strongly preferred. This is not a training role. We are looking for someone who understands the pace and demands of litigation support and can contribute from day one. Apply by submitting your resume and cover letter to Talent@DriskellLawFirm.com Pay: From $45,000+ per year Benefits: Health, dental, vision, PTO, Flex Time work schedule Work Location: In person Responsibilities: Legal Assistant – Job Responsibilities • Manage attorney calendars, including hearings, deadlines, and client meetings; proactively identify and address scheduling conflicts • Track all case deadlines and ensure timely completion of tasks without requiring follow-up • Draft, format, and proofread pleadings, correspondence, and legal documents with a high level of accuracy and consistency • File documents with courts (e-filing) and ensure compliance with applicable rules and formatting requirements • Maintain organized and up-to-date case files within the firm’s case management system • Communicate professionally with clients, court staff, and opposing counsel; serve as a reliable point of contact • Prepare and assemble hearing and trial materials, including exhibits and notebooks • Coordinate the service of process and follow up to confirm completion • Monitor incoming communications (email, filings, notices) and route or respond as appropriate • Assist with client onboarding, including gathering required information and documentation • Ensure all work product meets firm standards for quality, formatting, and professionalism • Maintain detailed internal notes reflecting case activity, client communication, and next steps • Support attorneys and paralegals in moving cases forward efficiently and proactively These responsibilities require strong organization, attention to detail, and the ability to operate independently in a fast-paced environment. Qualifications: Legal Assistant – Qualifications • Prior legal assistant experience required; family law experience strongly preferred • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple active cases in a fast-paced environment • Strong understanding of litigation workflow, deadlines, and court procedures (e-filing experience required) • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a high level of professionalism • Exceptional attention to detail; ability to produce error-free work product consistently • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines without supervision • Proficiency in case management systems (e.g., MyCase or similar), Microsoft Office, and document formatting • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion • Proven ability to take ownership of responsibilities and follow tasks through to completion • Comfortable communicating directly with clients, including in high-conflict or emotionally charged situations • Team-oriented mindset with a willingness to support attorneys and paralegals proactively • Reliable, accountable, and responsive in a high-performance environment This role requires someone who is already operationally competent and capable of contributing immediately without significant training.
