High-end custom upholstered furniture workroom looking for an energetic, technically skilled individual with the fabrication skills required to assist in the production of hardwood furniture frames.

Primary Responsibilities

Working with the Owner and Upholstery Team Leader to produce frames for new furniture, including chairs, sofas, and beds

Assisting in the modification and assembly of repurposed furniture and frames

Assisting in the staining and touch-up finishing of both new and refurbished pieces

Learning the methods and techniques of traditional and modern frame making, as practiced in our workroom

Working to ensure initiatives related to cost improvements and production efficiencies are practiced

Maintaining safety, quality and equipment standards

Skills and Qualifications

Experience making and/or designing wood furniture frames including proficiency with all of the major hand tools and machines

Experience with finishing methods and materials to achieve the highest quality finished product

Technical proficiency, including the ability to read and interpret frame drawings

Eagerness to learn and dedication to commit the time required to do so

Collaborative and team-oriented persona including collaborating with other frame makers

Effective verbal communication skills

Care and meticulous attention to detail

Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
