Benjamin Franklin Plumbing and One Hour Heating & Air Conditioning of San Diego is seeking a high-performing residential Sales/Service Plumber to help launch and grow our plumbing division in San Diego. This is a hands-on field role for a technician who can diagnose problems, present solutions clearly, close work ethically, and deliver an outstanding customer experience. As the department grows, this person will also help train, mentor, and lead future plumbing team members.
This is a working leadership role for someone who is not only technically strong, but also knows how to turn service calls into revenue through excellent customer communication, clear options, and ethical sales execution.
You will be a key contributor in the field — running calls, diagnosing issues, presenting repair and replacement options, and closing work — while also helping train, coach, and develop other plumbers on performance, professionalism, and customer experience.
We are looking for a leader who can set the tone for the team: someone who leads by example, performs at a high level, and knows how to help other technicians improve their conversion rate, average ticket, memberships, and overall customer satisfaction.
What You’ll Do You will split your time between personally producing in the field and leading the plumbing team.
Field Production / Sales
Run residential plumbing service calls and deliver an excellent customer experience from start to finish
Diagnose plumbing issues accurately and develop clear repair or replacement solutions
Present homeowners with professional options and upfront pricing
Close work ethically through strong communication, trust-building, and problem-solving
Promote memberships, financing options, and long-term plumbing solutions when appropriate
Serve as the standard for workmanship, professionalism, and in-home sales performance
Leadership & Team Development
Supervise, mentor, and support a team of residential service plumbers
Coach plumbers on technical skill, communication, service process, and sales execution
Conduct ride-alongs, call reviews, and field coaching to improve results
Help hold the team accountable to KPIs including revenue, average ticket, conversion rate, memberships, callback/warranty performance, and customer satisfaction
Support hiring, onboarding, and development of new team members
Promote a culture of safety, urgency, accountability, and customer-first service
Operations
Work closely with dispatch and office staff to improve scheduling, productivity, and profitability
Ensure accurate documentation in ServiceTitan, including notes, estimates, photos, and completed invoices
Maintain company vehicle, tools, and equipment in excellent condition
Assist with escalated service issues and more advanced technical calls as needed
What We’re Looking For
5+ years of residential plumbing service experience
Strong in-home plumbing sales experience with a proven ability to present options and close work
Prior lead plumber, field supervisor, trainer, or sales coaching experience strongly preferred
Demonstrated success driving revenue, memberships, average ticket, and customer satisfaction
Ability to coach and develop other plumbers in both technical performance and sales process
Strong communication skills, professionalism, and leadership presence
Comfortable using ServiceTitan
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
Ability to pass background check and drug screening
