    Role Overview:

    Intramotev is seeking a Navigation and Controls Engineer to join the development team to meet growing demands in the development of self-propelled rail vehicles. The role will be focused on developing innovative automation and control systems for self-propelled rail vehicles. The successful candidate will be a member / mentor / technical lead of the development team responsible for designing and developing software to generate safe, efficient, and reliable control for rail vehicles. The development of these capabilities includes multidisciplinary skills: architecture and systems development, integration, and testing.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Design, implement. and validate control systems and automation technologies to operate vehicle navigation and control systems
    • Design, test, and develop navigation and control algorithms using model-based design in Matlab/Simulink to be run on embedded real-time platforms
    • Design global and local motion planners for safety-critical systems
    • Design motion planners that can adapt global trajectories to local constraints
    • Design and implement local trajectory optimization and time parameterization solutions
    • Support solution deployment, customer handover, and ongoing support throughout the system lifecycle
    • Research technological advancements for potential application to company business needs
    • Make recommendations for technology investments

    About You:

    Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

    • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Engineering, Mathematics, or Science
    • 3-5+ years of experience working with Guidance, Navigation, and Control systems
    • Experience in Model-based System Design in MATLAB/Simulink environment
    • Willingness to expand into technical areas beyond your area of expertise; ability to develop innovative and novel approaches
    • Open-minded and comfortable working in a teaming environment or as an individual contributor
    • U.S. Person (immigration or work visa sponsorship will not be provided)
    • Fluent in both written and verbal English

    Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

    • 3-5+ years of experience working with Guidance, Navigation, and Control systems for autonomous vehicles or platforms
    • 1-2 years of software development with languages such as C, C++, or Python
    • Experience with Modern and Optimal Control theory
    • Experience with Search-Based Planners
    • Experience with Model Predictive Control
    • Experience with Reinforcement Learning
    • Experience or coursework with Kalman Filter Design and Estimation Techniques
    • Experience with code generation in Matlab / Simulink

    Typical Education and Experience:

    Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor and/or Master) and typically 10 or more years' related work experience.

    Relocation:

    This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility. Full time, based in St. Louis, MO.
