Palliative care is not about giving up — it’s about showing up. It focuses on comfort, dignity, symptom relief, and quality of life for individuals living with serious illness — and support for the families walking alongside them.
We are seeking an experienced, compassionate caregiver who understands that palliative care is as much about presence and listening as it is about hands-on care. This role is ideal for someone who is emotionally steady, comfortable with serious illness, and able to provide calm, respectful support during tender seasons of life.
Benefits:
Competitive Compensation: Earn competitive hourly wages.
Flexible Scheduling: Choose shifts that suit your lifestyle.
Continuous Development: Engage in ongoing training and professional growth.
Employee Recognition: Acknowledgment through recognition programs.
Supportive Work Environment: Thrive in a collaborative workplace.
Varied Shifts: Opportunities spanning from 4 to 24/7.
Customized Hours: Tailor your schedule with flexible working hours.
Safety Gear Provided: Ensure protection with provided PPE.
Referral Incentives: Benefit from referral bonuses.
Consistent Assignments: Build enduring client relationships through ongoing shifts.
Meaningful Impact: Make a significant difference in the lives of individuals coping with medical conditions and age-related challenges.
Responsibilities:
Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs):
Provide gentle, respectful assistance with bathing, grooming, dressing, and personal hygiene, prioritizing comfort, dignity, and the client’s preferences.
Assist with mobility, transfers, ambulation, and positioning, with close attention to pain levels, fatigue, and energy conservation.
Adapt care routines based on daily condition changes, honoring comfort-focused goals of care.
Medication Reminders:
Provide accurate and timely medication reminders according to prescribed schedules, with awareness of pain management and symptom-control regimens.
Support clients in maintaining calm, consistent medication routines and observe for changes in comfort, side effects, or response.
Promptly communicate concerns or notable changes to the care team.
Meal Preparation and Nutrition:
Assist with meal planning and preparation while adhering to dietary requirements, appetite changes, and comfort needs.
Monitor and gently encourage nutrition and hydration, understanding that intake may fluctuate as illness progresses.
Observe and report changes in appetite, swallowing ability, tolerance, or nausea.
Companionship and Social Interaction:
Provide calm, attentive companionship, engaging in meaningful conversation when welcomed and offering quiet, supportive presence when preferred.
Support emotional well-being by listening with empathy and providing reassurance during moments of anxiety, fatigue, or vulnerability.
Accompany clients to appointments and social activities as appropriate, supporting both the client and family with professionalism and compassion.
Health Monitoring:
Observe and report changes in physical comfort, pain levels, breathing, mobility, mood, cognition, or overall condition.
Recognize signs of symptom escalation or decline and communicate observations clearly and promptly to the care team.
Document care provided, comfort measures, and any notable observations to support continuity of care and palliative care goals.
Family Communication & Collaboration:
Communicate with family members in a clear, compassionate, and professional manner, recognizing the emotional complexity that often accompanies serious illness.
Provide appropriate updates regarding care routines, comfort, and observations, while maintaining professional boundaries and respecting the established plan of care.
Listen with empathy to family concerns and questions, offering reassurance and support without providing medical advice beyond the caregiver role.
Promptly relay changes, concerns, or family feedback to the care team to ensure coordinated, responsive care.
Support a calm, respectful care environment by navigating family dynamics with discretion, emotional maturity, and professionalism.
Qualifications:
Be willing to work as part of a responsive care team, with occasional short notice scheduling to support families in need
