    This Segment CIO opportunity is for a strategic and experienced Information Technology Executive to drive digital transformation and agile practices across a global organization.

    • The role will lead and implement key initiatives and drive strategic technology solutions that support our clients’ key business initiatives.
    • The right candidate will oversee multiple financial and insurance services system development as well as new product development and corporate computing initiatives.
    • This role will also oversee some parts of infrastructure which includes end user computing and services.
    • The CIO will be the Head of IT across the defined Segment, leading a direct staff of 6-8 senior IT leaders.
    • The role will be responsible for the critical software platforms that are key to our clients’ business growth and operations, this will include maintaining, enhancing and securing these platforms and innovative products.
    • The person in the role as the Head of IT will also be responsible for leading a team of hundreds of full time and contract resources both domestic and globally to accomplish the corporate business goals.
    • This role will also be tasked with spearheading and leading the pivot to an agile IT portfolio of products as well as lead the business down the adoption path.

    Education & Experience:

    • 15+ years of management experience in similar roles required.
    • Required knowledge and skills would typically be acquired through a Bachelor’s degree in science or technology or related field plus 20+ years of relevant, progressive experience.

    Key Accountabilities and Roles for this position:

    • Leverage significant IT leadership experience to:
      • Retain and motivate staff to accomplish results through training & development, performance management and rewards & recognition.
      • Lead a multi-location IT workforce of 300 plus full time employees and contractors with a “can do” attitude to deliver business success.
      • Directs the maintenance of the IT infrastructure and develop plans to evolve infrastructure in a manner consistent with business strategy.
      • Work with Data Center and Infrastructure partners to insure stable platform performance and efficiency
      • Manage and measure IT performance and regularly report on all dimensions to the IT governance committee.
      • Adopt and implement Corporate IT technology and Security standards and guidelines to maintain necessary controls, oversight, and documentation of processes & procedures.
      • Monitor and lead complex issues in response to major outages and incidents while restoring service rapidly across the corporate enterprise.
    • Drive and Facilitate Digital Transformation across all insurance lines of business by:
      • Overseeing key technology initiatives to help the company with key business goals, while ensuring stable and predictable day-to-day IT operations.
      • Utilize understanding of existing and cutting edge relevant technologies and awareness of broad trends within financial services and insurance industry to identify opportunities for improving effectiveness & efficiency in the clients’ technology platform that deliver optimal customer value and service to customers.
      • Partner with key vendor relationships and develop new partnerships to drive innovation and efficiency.
      • Adopt and deliver an innovative data strategy that enables real time business insights, predictive analytics and operational efficiency in business processes.
    • Lead Agile adoption and implementation strategy across IT while working with business leaders to make Corporate speed to market a competitive edge.
    • Act as change agent and motivator across IT staff and business stakeholders:
      • Regularly meet with key stakeholders to ensure business needs and emerging trends are planned for and met.
      • Guide the IT Steering Committee responsible for planning, funding, and reporting on strategic initiatives.
      • Lead the development and annual maintenance of a firm-wide annual IT Strategy utilizing roadmaps & business plans.
      • Willing to walk the talk and lead by example to motivate change through the IT organization
    • Exhibit and Leverage Specialty P&C Domain Knowledge.

     

    Key Skills and Knowledge needed for this role:

    • Leadership experience guiding and leading enterprise Agile implementation and adoption.
    • Background in application development / product development with a strong development leadership abilities.
    • Skills leading Enterprise and Application Architecture strategy and execution.
    • Referenceable experience bringing DevOps, Cloud first/native development, RPA/AI, Engineering automation and other industry leading technologies to a large enterprise environment.
    • Working with key partners / and 3rd party vendors to insure systems are supported correctly.
    • Strong understanding modern methods of ITSM and SDLC.
    • Satisfactory understanding of both large financial services and insurance industries.
    • Effective collaboration skills across multiple disciplines.
    • Demonstrated ability to manage multi-million dollar IT platform.
    • Good negotiation skills to effectively reach agreement with vendors and internal counterparts.
    • Good communication, interpersonal & leadership skills to effectively manage and motivate large IT function.
