The Senior Buildmaster - DevOps is responsible for overseeing the architecture and maintenance of a robust, reliable, automated and efficient build process ensuring high-level administration of Guidewire for production and support to release in collaboration with Developers, Business Analysts, Quality Assurance, SDMs, PMO, Tech Services and DBAs.
Requirements
- Maintain build and deployment jobs for CM/BC/PC, ProducerEngage and CustomerEngage.
- Manage the Guidewire environments, create new environments as needed.
- Document and continuously refine the procedures for keeping environments up to date when applying release changes (i.e. keeping rate tables current, applying updates to UW rules, forms and other components).
- QA, QAC and QA-Auto deployments each Tuesday and Thursday, as well as on demand requests.
- Weekly deployments to UAT and Training. Freeze the develop branches in Bitbucket, merge source to the master branch and build and deploy to UAT and once accepted to Training.
- Migration support when requested
- Provide off-hours assistance to offshore QA and overseas resources
Education / Experience
- Four Year College Degree, or equivalent experience
- 10+ years’ experience in information technology focused on software project management
- Solid understanding of the functions of insurance software technologies. Substantial hands-on use and/or implementation experience with core P& C systems (e.g. Policy, Billing, Claims) and BPO environment (call center, underwriting, billing and claims).
- Understanding of software development and infrastructure project lifecycles.
- Experience in managing project budgets and understanding project financials.
- Working knowledge of Git, Bitbucket, Bamboo, Jira, Confluence, Kubernetes (manage pods via a dashboard or Kubectl commands)
- Guidewire PolicyCenter, BillingCenter and ContactManager – high level understanding of the internal components for inter-center communication as well as interaction with the middleware message queues.
