Experienced Residential Program Manager/Direct Care Professional
The Program Manager oversees the daily operations of the residential program, supervises staff, coordinates services for youth, and ensures the program operates in compliance with licensing and agency standards.
This role serves as a primary liaison between staff, schools, families, therapists, and state agencies while advocating for the youth in our care.
Program Operations
Coordinate and oversee daily residential program operations
Supervise direct care staff and assign staff to youth as needed
Review shift notes, ABC data, and caregiver logs for accuracy and completeness
Respond to staff questions, concerns, and operational needs
Ensure program compliance with Washington Administrative Codes (WACs) and licensing requirements
Maintain house organization including inventory, groceries, and weekly menus
Conduct fire drills and safety checks
Monitor house maintenance and communicate with landlords when necessary
Youth Advocacy & Coordination
Attend IEP meetings and advocate for youth in school settings
Communicate regularly with IEP case managers, teachers, and school transportation
Coordinate doctor appointments and medical care
Transport youth to appointments when necessary
Maintain communication with parents or guardians and ensure engagement plans are followed
Coordinate with behavior specialists regarding behavioral needs
Plan and support community inclusion activities
Medical & Documentation
Review Medication Administration Records (MAR)
Order medications as needed
Coordinate nurse delegation services
Maintain accurate and up-to-date youth files
Complete and submit incident reports
Prepare and submit referral packets (acceptance or denial)
Agency & Compliance Communication
Communicate and attend meetings with DDCS and other state agencies
Maintain familiarity with state licensing requirements and regulations
Complete Quarterly Reports and IISP updates
Ensure documentation meets agency and state standards
Staff Support & Administration
Train and guide new hires including 30-hour onboarding checklists
Maintain archived records and program binders
Ensure staff documentation is complete and compliant
Support team development and staff performance
Licensing & Availability
Be available by phone or in person when needed
Be available within 30 minutes for licensing visits or urgent matters
Minimum Qualifications
3+ years experience working with adults, youth or children in a residential care, behavioral health, social services, or youth programs
Strong leadership and organizational skills
Ability to work with multiple agencies and professionals
Valid First Aid/CPR certification
Valid driver’s license and ability to transport youth
Additional Responsibilities
Program Managers may also assist with:
Supervising youth during activities and daily routines
Supporting youth with hygiene, meals, and daily living skills when necessary
Transportation to school, family visits, and appointments
Maintaining a safe, clean, and structured environment
