    About Us

RTEC has been serving Northern Virginia since 1996, focused on practical, science-based tree care and long-term client relationships. We take pride in doing things the right way—protecting properties, improving landscapes, and building a team that shows up, follows through, and keeps getting better.

We are a performance-driven company built for producers---where strong sales professionals have the autonomy to move fast, are expected to manage their own proposals and workflow, and are accountable for their results.

    The Opportunity

This is a field-driven sales role with real ownership.

As an Experienced Sales Arborist, you will manage the full client lifecycle—from initial consultation through proposal, execution, and long-term relationship management. This is not just a quoting role. You are responsible for building a high-quality book of business that is accurate, executable, and profitable.

    What you will be doing:

Meet with residential, commercial, and select municipal clients to assess tree and plant health needs and provide clear, practical recommendations

Develop detailed, accurate proposals rooted in safety, science, and real-world execution

Manage the full sales cycle, including site visits, estimating, follow-up, approvals, and job coordination

Own your workflow end-to-end—balancing field time, client communication, proposals, and administrative follow-through

Maintain and grow a book of business through strong client relationships, referrals, and repeat work

Build and manage Plant Health Care (PHC) programs, including renewals and long-term care strategies

Stay on top of your pipeline: follow-ups, approvals, scheduling coordination, and job progression

Ensure all work sold is clear, accurate, and executable in the field

Partner closely with Production to ensure jobs are completed safely, efficiently, and as sold

Monitor job progress and support quality control to ensure client satisfaction

Adapt to changing priorities--weather, client needs, and operational realities shift daily

Identify and pursue new opportunities within existing and prospective client relationships

Support and mentor junior sales staff as needed, contributing to overall team performance

    Sales Potential

This role is designed for a high-performing producer.

    Typical annual sales volume: $1M–$3M+

Uncapped commission structure with strong earning potential

Opportunity to grow your book of business without artificial ceilings or territory constraints

If you are currently producing at a high level---or feel limited by structure, support, or earning caps—this is an opportunity to take full ownership of your production.

    What You’re Accountable For

Meeting and exceeding individual revenue targets

Maintaining a high-quality, executable pipeline and book of business

Accurate estimating and clear scope development

Managing client experience from first contact through job completion

Consistent follow-up, communication, and CRM discipline

Ensuring what is sold can be executed safely, efficiently, and profitably

Supporting company safety standards, including driving and pesticide compliance

Contributing to team performance through collaboration and knowledge sharing

    We Offer

Base pay + uncapped commission with performance-based upside

Company-provided vehicle, laptop, phone, and uniforms

    Medical, Dental, & Vision

    PTO and 6 paid holidays

    Simple IRA (after eligibility period)

Ongoing training, ISA certification support, and continuing education

A stable company with a strong reputation and consistent workflow

A professional, safety-first environment focused on quality and continuous improvement

Clear path for advancement based on performance
