    Job Description

    Our client, a pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturer with over 60,000 employees in over 60 countries, is in their search for a Reliability Engineer to support an important project on a 6 month contract with possibility for direct-hire conversion at their facility in Irvine, CA. They are looking for a hungry, eager and determined engineer that can help support the reliability of production equipment and processes by using their creativity and resourcefulness.     SUMMARY

    Responsible for improving the reliability of equipment, utilities, critical systems and maintenance processes by applying the principles of Reliability Centered Maintenance. Apply Root Cause Analysis methodologies to improve equipment that support manufacturing operations in a dynamic, fast-paced cGMP, biotechnology environment. Measure reliability performance and demonstrate success of improvements. Support capital projects as needed. May be assigned other duties.

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Develop the maintenance strategy, plans, SOPs, parts lists, BOMs and frequencies for new and modified equipment.
    • Perform the review, improvement and update of Maintenance SOPs, Parts Lists, BOMs and CMMS data integrity for existing equipment.
    • Perform data analysis of corrective work orders in CMMS to identify trends and area focus for improvements.
    • Perform functional equivalency assessment of spare parts.
    • In collaboration with engineering, manufacturing, and maintenance personnel perform or support troubleshooting of equipment.
    • Conducts or participates in Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) and Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA).
    • Execute Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) or other improvement projects in assigned area.
    • Support the implementation of predictive maintenance across the facility.
    • Identify cost/waste/energy reduction opportunities.
    • Report project and operational metrics.

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Bachelor's Degree in an engineering discipline (Mechanical, Manufacturing, Chemical, Electrical, etc.) is preferred, but not required
    • Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred
    • Experience with Excel (Pivot tables, VLOOKUP) is preferred
