Web QA Engineer

POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking an experienced Quality Engineer with a real passion for ensuring the quality of our applications at every stage of our development cycle. As a Quality Engineer, you will work alongside our development teams and Product Owners on the design and development of our web platforms. You will be involved throughout the development lifecycle with particular responsibility for the testing of front-end web functionality. The Quality Engineer will be responsible for test planning, documenting, coordinating and testing of systems, databases and user interfaces. This is a hybrid role that will include both manual testing and web automation scripting for functional, integration, regression and performance testing to meet the business requirements, strategic mission and goals of the organization while mitigating risk.

You will be expected to independently manage work tasks, and will assist in the planning, organizing and coordinating of technical tasks and work assignments. This quality assurance role will collaborate closely with release management, product management, quality assurance and professional services. The chosen candidate will be part of an agile team and must provide the scrum team transparency into the quality of features.

HIGH-LEVEL RESPONSIBILITIES:

•                     Write and execute manual test cases

•                     Write test plans

•                     Design and create automated test scripts and scenarios

•                     Develop testing programs that address areas such as database impacts, software scenarios, regression testing, negative tests, bug retests, performance, or usability

•                     Perform mobile and web testing on an on-going basis

•                     Evaluate and test changes for accuracy and consistency

•                     Document software defects using JIRA bug tracking system

•                     Monitor bug resolution efforts and track successes

•                     Proven ability to make strategic decisions while also driving quality into the organization

REQUIREMENTS:

•                     BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject

•                     Experience building and designing test cases including practical experience with various test methodologies

•                     Experience with client-side debugging using browser developer tools

•                     4+ years of hands on experience in testing web applications

•                     Experience with web building blocks (HTTP, HTML, CSS, JSON)

•                     Experience building and designing test cases including knowledge of test methodologies

•                     You thrive in a dynamic, agile SCRUM, start-up environment

•                     Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills

•                     Proven experience with web automation testing tools
