    Job Description

    We are seeking a Legal Analyst to join our Content team to work on expert litigation activity. We are looking for an analyst with experience in collecting case case information related to civil litigation by utilizing various legal research resources and databases.

    Our Legal Analyst is primarily responsible for curating expert litigation activity to be presented to attorney-clients in a profile format. The candidate will perform legal research and interpret court documents and judgements. This position will utilize tools to collect data on case law analytics to be monitored for attorney-clients. You will be working in various legal databases such as WestLaw, Bloomberg Law or LexisNexis, as well as Data Central. Data Central is our recently launched Content Collection and curation tool, which enables our products and legal clients to interact with experts within our network. This position has a great opportunity for advancement.

    Our Legal Analyst will:

    • Effectively review online civil case dockets and documents and provide important data points on Expert Witness activity

    • Perform legal research utilizing free and fee-based databases/websites to summarize, organize and assemble facts based on the records, pleadings, and other relevant documents in case dockets

    • Utilize their knowledge of the legal process and and their practical experience of WestLaw, Bloomberg Law or LexisNexis

    • Complete document retrieval including dockets, motions, affidavits, court orders, subpoenas, depositions, and jury verdicts

    • Set up current awareness and docket alerts

    • Coordinate with management to ensure that project deadlines are met

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • 3+ years of professional experience working in a law firm, law department, or law industry

    • Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred

    • Strong written and verbal communication skills

    • Previous experience understanding litigation activity within the context of the legal process as reported as part of a docket is required

    • Experience with WestLaw, Bloomberg Law or LexisNexis is required

    • Close attention to detail, ability to think quickly and critically

    • Ability to work autonomously and in a team and KPI driven setting 

    • Comfortable working in a fast pace, dynamic environment

    • Ability to meet deadlines
