    HIGH LEVEL OVERVIEW

    The Export Compliance Manager leads the export compliance program, ensuring adherence to all U.S. export regulations, including ITAR & EAR. This role provides strategic oversight of export licensing, regulatory submissions, and trade processes to mitigate risk, maintain compliance, and support efficient business operations.

    This is a flexible in-office position based near Arlington, VA.

     

    EXPECTATIONS

    • Oversight of OFAC, ITAR, EAR, and antiboycott compliance policies
    • Conduct internal audits, assess risks, and implement corrective action solutions to ensure compliance
    • Subject Matter Expert for ECCN Classification, Restricted Party Screening, Sanctions & Embargoes
    • Develop export policies, procedures and training to ensure understanding of regulatory impact
    • Manage export license submissions and exemptions for high-volume defense programs 
    • Create & implement technology control plans, security plans, approval of facility and system access
    • Lead trade-related aspects of facility visitor management process
    • Stay current on export control regulations and industry developments, communicating key updates to leadership and ensuring proactive compliance alignment 


    ESSENTIALS

    • 7+ years experience, including 5+ years of ITAR & EAR export licensing and compliance leadership
    • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, International Trade, or a related discipline required
    • Export Compliance certification preferred (CES, CECP, CUSECO or equivalent)
    • In-depth knowledge of ITAR, EAR, BIS, and FTR regulations to create best practices
    • Experience as an Empowered Official managing export programs in defense industry
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and export compliance software platforms 
    • Strong attention to detail, communication & critical thinking skills, ability to manage multiple projects
    • Experience working with U.S. Government contracts and Directorate of Defense Trade Controls (DTCC)
    • Must have or be able to obtain security clearance
