    To support our growth objectives and mission, we are seeking a dynamic Operations Team member. We are currently hiring for the role of Claims Adjuster 2. The main responsibility of this position is to handle correspondence with policyholders, claimants, and stakeholders, with the ultimate goal of settling claims based on coverage.

    Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Assessing routine property/casualty claims and either denying, settling, or authorizing payments based on coverage, appraisal, and verifiable damage.
    • Engaging in effective communication with policyholders, claimants, witnesses, attorneys, etc., to gather crucial information necessary for contested insurance claims.
    • Providing recommendations for the settlement of routine property/casualty claims, backed by coverage, appraisal, and verifiable damage. Preparing reports summarizing investigation findings.
    • Supervising assigned claims within predetermined thresholds and/or geographical areas.
    • Efficiently managing claims in accordance with established strategies.
    • Ensuring prompt and appropriate reporting and evaluation of claims.
    • Collaborating directly with Insurance Companies and company Clients to investigate and expedite claims.
    • Establishing and maintaining accurate reserves.
    • Monitoring reserve changes and settlement requests, and providing well-documented rationale to leadership when necessary.
    • Identifying and escalating early settlement opportunities.
    • Assessing subrogation potential and reporting on it.
    • Actively participating and driving results in quarterly claim reviews.
    • Reviewing police and hospital records, claim notes, and property damage photos to evaluate the adequacy of claim reserving and the appropriateness of settlement requests. Proposing alternative investigation methods as needed.

    Candidate Profile:

    • Decision-Making: Approaches problem-solving conceptually, identifying key issues and establishing coherent frameworks. Comfortably handles ambiguity and complexity, considering resources and risks to prioritize effective and efficient solutions.
    • Self-Initiative: Sets priorities aligned with organizational goals without requiring explicit direction from others.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • 3-6 years of experience in a similar role.
    • Bachelor''s degree (B.A) from an accredited four-year college or university, plus two years of property/casualty claims experience, preferably in field claims. An equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered. AIC designation is preferred.
    • Experience in evaluating and negotiating large loss casualty claims.
    • Strong knowledge of jurisdictional regulations and experience in managing litigation claims.
    • Preferred experience in claims auditing/examination.
    • Proven track record in working for an insurance company in a multi-state environment, a self-insured entity, or a third-party administrator.
    • Working towards an AIC or similar claims designation.
    • In-depth technical claims and legal knowledge, with experience in RMIS systems being a plus.
    • Highly organized and analytical, comfortable working in a high-volume claims environment.
    • Empathetic and sensitive to community needs while carrying out assigned tasks.
    • Operates with high standards, integrity, and sound judgment.
    • Excellent listening, communication, verbal, and written documentation skills.
    • Familiarity with the coverage provided within various homeowner policies.
    • Demonstrated ability to handle complex and high-exposure claims
