Job Description
Foam Components Manufacturing Facility is seeking a Quality Assurance and Safety Manager for the South San Diego area.
The Quality Assurance and Safety Manager will work to prevent workplace accidents and promotes health and safety awareness and education to fellow employees.
QUALITY
- Overall responsibility to oversee and ensure quality compliance and continuous improvements.
- Support operations in continuous improvement.
- Possesses technical expertise or capability.
- Oversee International Standards Organization (ISO) documentation management compliance. Prepare and support for compliance with ISO standards and audits.
- Analyzes data, makes decisions, or provide recommendations to senior staff regarding quality related issues.
- Demonstrate commitment to the development, implementation, and effectiveness of Quality Management System per ISO 9001.
- Review PO’s for quality requirements and approval.
- Participate in MRB meetings.
- Generate, review and monitor CAR’s, NCR’s, Supplier Surveys, etc.
- Review and approve ECO’s.
- Ensure quality inspection requirements are met and procedures are being followed.
- Identify, define, and promote awareness of customer requirements. Manage customer compliance related inquiries which may include questionnaires, etc.
SAFETY
- Plan and implement safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulations.
- Maintain safety files and records.
- Maintain safety and compliance information.
- Partner with management in incident investigations, ensuring appropriate processes are followed.
- Determine training requirements and implementation of safety training programs.
- Facilitate improvement opportunities in routine risk identification, and control programs (e.g., incident investigation, near miss incidents, development of safe work procedures, etc.)
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Health, Engineering or related discipline preferred
- Minimum 3 years large scale commercial, government, or industrial project management experience, including at least 3 years management level safety profession experience
- Current certifications in First Aid, CPR, OSHA, 30-hour Construction Safety and Industry Standards plus familiarity with DOE 10 CFR Part 851 highly desirable
