Express Employment Professionals in Laguna Hills is recruiting for a Technical Support Specialist for a company that is a leader in their industry located in Irvine. This is a full time, Evaluation to Hire position paying $20/hr DOE.
This position is M-F Day shift and may have required overtime and may include working evenings at times.
Supporting our customers in the proper installation and operation of our product is at the core of our business. The main connection to our customers for this support is our Technical Support staff. A Technical Support Specialist works with field technicians, end users, and our own internal departments to provide World Class technical support, This position also performs in-house diagnostic and repair services on company branded operators and accessories, and provides technical feedback to QA and R&D teams regarding the problems encountered in front-line support.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
- Provide product support via phone and e-mail.
- Initiate, monitor, and complete the RMA process for returns and repairs.
- Perform diagnostic tests and repairs on electric, electronic, and mechanical systems used within the company product lines.
- Support customer installation and configuration of operators and accessories.
- Test and validate product performance.
- Provide technical training to installers, technicians, and coworkers.
- Answer technical questions and service requests for the sales team.
- Some travel to work-sites to assist with difficult installations or repair work may be required.
QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:
- 3-5 years of experience in a relevant technical position such as field service (Preferred)
- Ability to read and understand technical documentation including product manuals, datasheets, technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and electrical schematics.
- Ability to interpret and condense information from documentation sources and successfully use that information to provide support, without a pre-written script.
- Proficiency with electrical, electronic, and mechanical troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with electronic repair procedures and techniques, including operation of multi-meters/DVOM, power supplies, and soldering/de-soldering tools.
- Familiarity with mechanic’s hand and power tools.
- Proficiency using MS-Windows, including Office products, and ability to install and manage software required to perform assigned tasks.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills (Required)
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills (Required)
- Knowledge of communication protocols such as Ethernet, RS-232, RS-485, and CAN BUS is a plus.
