    Extend is modernizing the $45 billion-per year extended warranty and protection plan industry using cutting edge technology, and top notch customer service.

    Our API-first solution allows any merchant to offer extended warranties and protection plans, both online and offline, while also providing a merchant's end customers with a vastly improved and modern support experience that eliminates many of the issues customers face today with legacy underwriters.

    We are a venture-backed startup based in downtown San Francisco (and our homes these days) that is led by founders who have previously had multiple successful exits.

    You will have a unique opportunity to play a significant role in driving strategic growth for a Series A startup on a rocketship growth trajectory.

    Roles & Responsibilities (Bear with me - this is a long one)

    This is the first analytics hire and a wide-ranging role to support Extend's Revenue, Risk and Finance teams. You will have the opportunity to scale with the org and potentially lead the team long-term. The role's responsibilities will include:

    • BizOps/Revenue Strategy - two core functions
      • Help Revenue team understand relative priorities (based on Revenue impact and strategic goals) of pursuing new verticals or channels, specific programs (like co-marketing) and new product builds being considered
      • Will help CRO synthesize feedback from Revenue teams, Customers (Merchants and Consumers) and our insurance partners to determine internal strategy and prioritization
      • Tackle hairy cross-functional problems that are key to effectively scaling the org over the next several years
    • Revenue Ops support - Work closely with RevOps as technical resource to build data platform to determine sales comp planning (and payouts) and help them write up basic scripts or financial models as needed
    • FP&A and Accounting support
      • This role will be the connective tissue between the Revenue and FP&A organizations particularly on hiring and forecasting (determining if variance is due to operational outperformance or miss vs. bad forecast) 
      • Support Accounting report automation to close the books and generate invoices.

       

    • Client Insights/Merchant Success Support -
      • This can best be described as analytic product marketing. Work with MSMs to craft the story to show the value we provide and why we're better than anyone else out there. This includes A/B or serial tests, NPS surveys, merchant satisfaction surveys, etc. 
      • Help turn these insights into sales enablement and competitive positioning
      • Manage tests at merchants and get data to build out case studies and GTM messaging
      • Drive portfolio wide revenue optimization and communication to merchants on personalized optimization based on testing across our platform
    • Warranty Services support
      • Work with our Risk & Insurance team to build analyses and reports with deep-dive analytics and machine learning models models to present to negotiate rates with insurance providers
      • Servicing analytics support to help drive step-change improvements in efficiency (beyond day-to-day workforce management) and forecast hiring based on Revenue team signing/integration expectations
    • Work with the Data Engineering team to create and maintain uniform definitions of metrics between Revenue and all other teams. 
    • Consumer marketing analytics
      • Work with merchants on email, digital media and in-box campaigns to drive increase attach rates and incremental revenue for our merchant partners and ourselves

       

    • Product analytic support 
      • A/B testing and optimization across platform wide consumer-facing product touchpoints on merchant sites. 
      • Platform-wide analytics to confirm the product is working as expected (loading of images, buttons, load times etc.)
      • Working with Data Engineering and Product to make sure proper analytics tracking is set up (ideally before launch) for all new features/products and supporting in development of ETLs
      • Broad product optimization across our platform

    What We Look For

    • A curious, entrepreneurial leader with plenty of grit, analytical prowess, creative thinking, and initiative,
    • 6-10 years of analytics, management consulting, finance, or strategic operations experience with a digital product
    • Experience with SQL and familiarity with Python/Pandas
    • Experience in the Retail or Fintech landscape or Machine Learning is a plus
    • Ability and interest in thinking beyond the revenue organization. The ability to consider the challenges of other teams, and what's best for the business holistically, is essential
    • Ability to communicate across the organization, especially to teams with less customer-facing experience
    • A track record of recruiting, retaining, and promoting high performing individuals
