    The Product Marketing Manager will be responsible for the development and delivery of effective positioning and messaging of the company’s knowledge engagement solutions to successfully increase market demand, product advocacy and the company’s position as a category leader. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Marketing, this role will be a critical member of the Marketing team, working cross-functionally with Product, Sales and Customer Success and have high visibility across the entire company. This role is not just about conducting product demos or presenting product features. It’s the strategic connection that connects and communicates our product strategy to the tactics we need to drive success in sales and marketing. The right candidate will be a strategic marketer who is curious, proactive and has the capability to both plan and execute flawlessly.

     

    What You’ll Do

    • Market intelligence—be the expert on our buyers, who are they, how they buy and their key buying criteria.
    • Understand the competitive landscape—be an expert on our competition, how they are positioned and how the future landscape is evolving.
    • Collaborate with product management and marketing to develop product positioning and messaging that resonate with our target buyer personas.
    • Understand and document our buyer’s process, including where they get information, and the who, what, whenand why behind the decisions they make. Then drive changes to our sales and marketing processes based on what you learn.
    • Develop marketing plans for the company’s products and solutions in conjunction with our marketing team, including key activities and budgets to support the retention of existing customers and the acquisition of new customers.
    • Assess the effectiveness of product marketing activities on an ongoing basis, and report back to the business on required changes.
    • Plan the launches of net-new products and releases of existing products and manage the cross-functional implementation of the plan.
    • Act as a thought leader for the company externally, including presentations, speaking engagements and written works. Understand and support our sales channels; train them on the problems we solve for our buyers and users; develop internal tools and external collateral and teach them how and when to use it.

     

    Qualifications

    • 5+ years of product marketing experience for a B2B software company, with at least 2 years of experience in a market-facing role (e.g. delivering presentations to customers and prospects, conducting competitor analysis and market research)
    • Desire for working in a fast-paced start-up environment, comfort with change, and a willingness to roll up your sleeves and get the job done, whatever it takes
    • Comfortable using collaboration and CRM tools such as Slack and Salesforce.
    • Familiar with marketing automation and analytics tools such as Hubspot and Google Analytics.
    • Exceptional ROI-tracking skills, able to prove what is –or isn’t—working
    • Excellent people and collaborative skills to interact with leadership, cross-functional teams, customers and external industry leaders.
    • A strong presenter, comfortable in front of senior groups and stakeholders, and a solid writer.
    • Bachelor’s degree in business or marketing; MBA preferred.

    Experience with software solution(s) in knowledge management, content management, sales enablement and/or training management a plus.
