    Our client, located in Austin, TX seeks outstanding candidates for a Product Manager. This position, reporting to the Director of Product Management, will support our client’s product development efforts, with the goal of expanding the reach and impact of our client’s assessment solutions. Candidates interested in this position should have a background in product management and an interest in having a national impact in K-12 education.

    WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

    SUMMARY: We are seeking an innovative, entrepreneurial product manager with knowledge of the K-12 assessment space to lead efforts to help us transform how states build high-quality, balanced, and coherent assessment systems. This candidate will work with internal and external stakeholders to develop innovative approaches to service state or district-level formative and interim assessment programs. This candidate will leverage product management expertise to help our client further its mission to provide high-quality products and services that will positively impact students nationwide.

    Expected Duties and Responsibilities

    • Manage the product lifecycle of assessment products:
      • act as the voice of the customer, researching and prioritizing customer requirements; define the product vision;
      • create and maintain the product roadmap;
      • work with our client's staff across the organization, including Assessment Design & Development, Psychometrics, Marketing, Operations, and Finance, to ensure product goals are met.
    • Manage new product concept development:
      • validating product concepts with prospective users, contributors, and influential stakeholders;
      • conduct feasibility analyses of required assessment delivery supports, developing market and product requirements;
      • developing and validating business cases.
      • Conduct market and competitive research into the viability of new product offerings and product enhancements.
    • Support marketing by developing product positioning.
    • Develop go-to-market and annual product marketing plans.
    • Develop annual product plans and budget, including funding and resource requirements, risk assessment, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
    • Manage program cost, schedules, quality, performance, processes, and subcontractor activities, employing metrics, risk management and project management methodologies and tools to ensure successful execution.
    • Develop subject matter expertise in market, policy, and other environmental factors impacting K-12 education and assessment.
    • Support training and support of business development staff in their outreach to customers.

     

    Requirements and Experience

    • A bachelor’s degree is required.
    • 3+ years’ experience as a Product Manager is required
    • Demonstrated success at defining and launching products is required.
    • Experience in the management of educational products and services is required.
    • Experience with K-12 educational assessment is strongly preferred, but not required.
    • Strong project management, collaboration, and communication skills.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and presentation skills.
