    Role Description:

    The Chief of Staff role is an incredible opportunity to work side-by-side with the company’s CEO to help drive the company’s overall strategy and execution. We are looking for a mission-driven, well-rounded, self-motivator who can move seamlessly between analytical and qualitative tasks, is emotionally intelligent, enjoys being challenged, and is eager to play a critical role in the company’s next phase of growth. The Chief of Staff should be able to think critically and focus on immediate initiatives while problem-solving in real time and setting organizational priorities weekly by driving cross-functional alignment.

     

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Be a trusted advisor to the CEO and leadership team, providing strategic support and facilitating cross-functional collaboration daily
    • Help manage and execute company-wide initiatives that align with the Company’s goals and objectives and design and manage executive dashboards
    • Drive operational excellence by identifying inefficiencies and implementing improved processes
    • Develop a deep understanding of the CEO/Company’s priorities and mission to be prepared to act as the voice of the CEO with functional leads, the team at large, and external partners
    • Be well-versed in the Company’s financials and key metrics to provide thoughtful insights to the CEO and leadership team
    • Take on special projects that fall between departments and/or require cross-functional project management
    • As part of the annual strategic planning process and throughout the year, help set priorities, determine key performance indicators, gather data, and track and report progress.
    • Draft project charters to clearly define objectives, scope, outcomes, roles and authority, budget, and timeline for strategic initiatives sponsored by the CEO
    • Participate as an adjunct member of the Executive Team including coordinating the agenda of executive team meetings and off-sites, retreats, and all-staff meetings
    • Serve as liaison to the Board of Directors and philanthropic partners, planning Board agendas, preparing Board materials, and actively fostering strong communication and engagement with Board members and key partners or stakeholders when necessary
    • Accurately represent the CEO’s position to internal and external constituencies

     

    Requirements:

    • A bachelor’s degree is required; an MBA, MPA, or JD, is preferred
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • 3+ years of experience in a senior-level administrative, operations, consulting or executive support role with a working knowledge within the CPG industry; startup & direct-to-consumer experience preferred
    • Strong understanding of business operations, strategic planning, and project management
    • Demonstrated proficiency in corporate finance and the ability to leverage financial data to glean insights and trends
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders
    • Strong organizational and time management skills
    • High tolerance for ambiguity and ability to quickly change perspectives
    • Ability to work independently and part of a team
    • Willingness to think outside the box to deliver solutions to the CEO
    • A desire and humility to always improve, learn and grow
    • Advanced proficiency with Google Slides, PowerPoint, and Excel is required and experience with Slack, Google Suite, Asana is preferred
