Production Accountant/Analyst
Role Description:
The company is seeking an oil and gas Production Accountant/Analyst in its Midland, Texas corporate office. The production accountant/analyst will be responsible for volumetric accounting for oil, gas, and water. The title depends on experience and tenure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor input of production data from the field into the production accounting system
- Work closely with field personnel to resolve questions and inaccuracies about the data
- Perform daily and monthly data quality checks
- Perform variance analysis for downtime, SCADA data, and production volumes
- Validate and reconcile run ticket deliveries to discover missing/duplicate tickets, confirm proper allocation of crude barrels, and volume discrepancies
- Review allocated oil and gas sales
- Reconcile purchaser statements to payment details
- Work with revenue to coordinate delivery of allocations in a timely manner
- File State and Federal regulatory reports for production, as required
- Troubleshoot allocation and reporting issues
- Provide monthly reporting for JIB
- Run Ad-hoc reports for engineering, accounting, and regulatory groups
- Provide response/resolution in a timely and thorough manner to all internal and external inquiries
Requirements:
Knowledge, Skills, and Attributes:
- Data Troubleshooting
- Microsoft Excel Power User esp. VLOOKUP’s and pivot tables
- SQL experience a plus
- Strong organizational/multi-tasking skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
Required Qualifications:
- 5 – 10 years related/progressive experience in oil and gas volumetric accounting
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prodview Platform experience
- Local candidates preferred

Work Environment:
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. ?
Physical Demands:
This is largely a sedentary role, however, while performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and/or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms. The worker is also required to have close visual acuity for viewing a computer terminal, reading, transcribing, and preparing and analyzing data and figures.
Position type and expected hours of work:
Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but the employee must be in office and available during the “core” work hours.
