Job Description: Exterior Design release Engineer
Location: Irvine, CA
Require CATIA V6, on top of this RIVIAN will conduct a CAD Test for CATIA V6 as part of the interview.
Therefore, all candidates have been declined since they are experience mainly in V5
Moving forward please highlight all the CATIA V6 experience in the resume as well as their proficiency level in the submittal, if they are not proficient to pass a CAD test please do not submit them over.
Responsibilities
****Good Working experience as DRE in Exterior engineering (Min 3 years) ****
• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 10+ years of experience in automotive exterior trim components and subsystem.
• Ability to create and completion of Bumper, Cladding, Spoiler, Door garnish, Fender etc
• Work with Styling team to perform feasibility studies, Check A-class surface and define craftsman ship target.
Experience from OEMs or Tier-I companies e.g. Plastic Omnium, Forvia, Denso, Plasman, Westin Bumpers.
• Design of automotive component parts in CATIA V6.
• Actively engage with Automotive OEM /Tier-I design engineers to collaborate on design projects for trading off cost, mass, joining methods, molding and testing performance.
• Review the inputs received, clarify the input queries. Make a rough initial estimation.
• Good knowledge of Exterior trim manufacturing processes.
• Develop and execute Exterior system requirements for Exterior components.
• Complete and release interior components, sub-system and detail designs.
• Interpret CAE simulation results and integrate recommendations into product design.
• Collaborate with key Exterior system and plastic component suppliers and support overall vehicle development milestones and prototype/production build events.
