    Job Description

      Exterro is currently seeking a highly motivated, organized, and goal-oriented Human Resource Benefits Specialist. You will be exposed to a fast-paced, dynamic work environment, The HR Benefits Specialist will primarily be responsible for employee benefits, answering general benefits and leave inquiries, new hire benefits orientation, and assisting the Director of Human Resources on all benefits and leave matters. The successful candidate will be customer service oriented, flexible, comfortable with change and adhere to strict confidentiality. This role will be based in person, in our BEAVERTON, OR office headquarters.

     KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Performing exceptional customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions
    • Develop and maintain collaborative working relationships
    • Conducting audits of various time off plans, benefits or other HR programs and compliance
    • Assisting Director of Human Resources with various research projects and/or special projects.
    • Liaison with benefits brokers on benefits enhancements and annual renewals
    • Assist employees with benefits enrollments, open enrollment, changes, and terminations, for benefits to include medical, dental, vision, life, LTD/STD, FSA, HSA, and 401k/ROTH plans. 
    • Assists with processing and record keeping related to hiring, separation, leave, transfer and promotion
    • Assist with new-hire orientation; conduct presentations and provide information to employees about benefit options.
    • Assist with claim issues and plan changes, identify, and resolve issues through research, review of plan documents, policy interpretation and broker resources.
    • Review, process, and track FMLA and state specific leaves.
    • Review and ensure the accuracy of benefits enrollments in the HRIS to provide carriers accurate eligibility information; work with HR Generalist Payroll Specialist to reconcile payroll deductions, HRIS enrollment records and carrier invoices.
    • Coordinate the open enrollment process and quarterly insurance reviews
    • Ensures compliance with applicable federal, state, and local employment laws, rules and regulations, including ERISA, OFLA, FMLA, ADA, ACA and COBRA.
    • Enhance and manage wellness program
    • Assists in administrative and compliance tasks
    • Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Human Resources

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE -- THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management or Psychology preferred, MBA a plus
    • CBP, CEBS, PHR or SHRM-CP certification is a plus
    • 2+ years HR, Benefits, Leaves, or related experience
    • Must be able to handle sensitive information with confidentiality
    • Demonstrated knowledge of benefits, plan design, leaves and applicable employment laws
    • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
    • Excellent time management skills--the ability to work independently and as part of a team
    • Great communication skills
    • A positive, flexible attitude
    • Willingness to work with global partners

    All Exterro team members are expected to have baseline office professional technical skills and the ability to communicate effectively and appropriately over email, the intranet/forum, etc. Exterro uses a variety of platforms including Windows, Mac, GSuite, but employees should be able to use Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint or open source equivalents at a functional level.
