    ABOUT THE POSITION

    Eye to Eye is seeking an energetic and driven current or prospective college student with an interest in nonprofit social media and communications, with a touch of event planning. Reporting to the Chief External Affairs Officer, this individual will work with the External Affairs team to plan and execute a social media campaign centered around our annual Young Leaders Organizing Institute conference. 

    The Young Leaders Organizing Institute (OI) is a week-long intensive training program held at the University of Denver in Denver, CO. Approximately 250+ Chapter Leaders, staff, and community partners attend the OI to build leadership skills through workshops, community building, and working with leading role models from the national stage.

    This internship will run from mid-June to mid-August in a full-time capacity. It is a remote-based position that can be performed from any location within the United States. The intern will also be required to support the team in-person during OI week as part of our Logistics team. This year's OI will be held in Denver, CO from August 2nd-August 7th. All expenses to Denver including transportation (airfare, train, car, etc.) and lodging will be covered by the organization. 

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Assist in the development of marketing materials for the OI;
    • Support the team in the design and execution of social media campaigns particularly, developing social media content for the OI;
    • Attend and contribute to OI event planning meetings;
    • Oversee and assist in the design of social media content, flyers, and other marketing material for the OI;
    • Assist with photoshoots, video shoots, and event media and marketing at the OI;
    • Support the team in gathering content and perspective from Eye to Eye leadership to distribute via social media outlets; 
    • Support the team in tracking social media engagement;
    • Other duties as assigned.

     

    DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • High School diploma or equivalent;
    • Photography and video skills are encouraged;
    • Familiarity with the Adobe Suite of applications including Photoshop and InDesign;
    • Familiarity with social media platforms such as Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter;
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills;
    • Ability to travel to Denver, CO (with transportation, lodging, and meals paid for) from August 2nd through August 7th;
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail needed to manage a busy schedule, email inbox, and task lists;
    • Demonstrated experience with managing complex projects including setting priorities, managing resources, navigating challenges, and meeting and/or exceeding goals;
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills including experience developing relationships with various stakeholders;
    • Resourcefulness and creativity in proposing ideas;
    • Energetic, entrepreneurial, and hardworking, with a fun approach to work;
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Google Apps Suite, DropBox, and working with data and large quantities of information;
    • Driver's license helpful, but not required;
    • Passion for the mission, vision, and goals of Eye to Eye, including a personal commitment to inclusive collaboration that prioritizes and incorporates diversity and equity in all aspects of work.

    COMPENSATION

    The intern will receive a weekly stipend of $250. Further, they will also get all-expense to Denver, CO covered from August 2nd through August 7th. This includes transportation (airfare, train, car, etc.), lodging, and meals.
