    POSITION SUMMARY:

    F.N. Smith Corporation is seeking an individual who is a highly motivated, critical thinker to be part of our team. As a manufacturing technician, you will provide support to assigned manufacturing areas and product development teams to assure products, purchased parts, and manufacturing processes consistently meet engineering specifications, customer expectations, and regulatory requirements.

    Essential Job Functions:

    • Develop routings and job setups for production orders

    • Lead problem-solving activities and continuous improvement efforts as it relates to customer satisfaction and quality improvement

    • Gibbs Cam programming and software maintenance

    • Training of personnel in Gibbs Cam when required 

    • Selection of tooling for Gibbs Cam programmed parts

    • Monitor tooling inventory

    • Maintain calibration system and standards

    • Perform quality control checks across all stages of production

    • Facilitate the management of the non-conforming parts procedure

    • Communicate quality or compliance concerns with urgency

    • Working knowledge of equipment for food manufacturing preferred

    • Working knowledge of machining process preferred

    • Strong analytical and organizational skills with acute attention to detail

    • Ability to understand blueprints and product drawings

    Education / Experience:

    • Associates of Science degree in Engineering or equivalent experience preferred

    • 5 - 7 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, quality assurance, or design engineering functions

    • Strong working knowledge of various mathematical concepts including fractions, ratios, and proportions

    • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision

    • Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret information

    • Strong critical thinking skills, must work cooperatively within the company

    • Must be results-driven, self-motivated with excellent interpersonal skills

    • Ability to work in a wide range of software programs that support our business (MS Office Suite, CAD/ CAM Packages, ERP and CRM systems, etc.)
