    Job Description

    Our INTERNATIONAL SENIOR TAX ASSOCIATE interacts and oversees a portfolio of clients including high net wealth individuals and middle market businesses. Works as part of a tax team contributing on international tax compliance and consulting projects. Prepares and reviews tax compliance services for partnerships, corporations, S corporations, trusts and individual clients. Assists clients with tax reporting obligations for international operations. Carries out tasks with little coaching and supervision. Demonstrates strong technical knowledge and is responsible for coaching, advising and directing team members in meeting client and self-development expectations.

    At very fundamental levels may engage in business development activities to expand and produce new client opportunities.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Guide clients on income tax planning opportunities arising from inbound and outbound cross-border investing and trading activities
    • Utilize tax research skills to provide international tax advice to clients
    • Preparation of complex tax returns (individual, trust, corporate and partnership returns)
    • Ability to identify and analyze tax issues and come to conclusions
    • Prepare quarterly and year-end estimates to assist clients with tax planning
    • Perform diversified tax assignments under the direction of a supervisor, manager or partner
    • Demonstrate competency in technical skills, work quality and application of professional and firm standards
    • Meet time constraints and client deadlines
    • Possess technical knowledge sufficient to assist staff associates and interns
    • Begin acquiring the skills necessary to develop quality client relationship and loyalty
    • Participate in firm training courses to further develop technical skills
    • Provide excellent client service by producing quality work, quick turnaround and attentive service
    • Become proficient at tax research including a knowledge of the reference sources available to the firm

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Master’s degree in Accounting or Tax and/or J.D.
    • MEETS ALL REQUIREMENTS TO SIT FOR CPA EXAM AND ACTIVELY PURSUING SAME
    • Those possessing CPA CERTIFICATION WILL BE GIVEN PREFERENCE
    • Minimum of three years of public accounting, demonstrating a progression in complexity of tax returns 
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills in Spanish
    • Knowledge of a broad range of U.S. international and domestic tax law provisions
    • Strong research and writing, and oral communication skills 
    • Excellent analytical and soft skills
    • Ability to make and support decisions regarding accounting and tax matters
    • Ability to perform and direct multiple engagements with competing priorities
    • Ability to mentor, lead, and train
    • Extensive knowledge of individual, trust and entity returns, all with international tax components
