    ORGANIZATION OVERVIEW:

    Face to Face Health and Counseling is a non-profit organization dedicated to advancing economic and health equity for youth ages 11–24. We do this work through a comprehensive approach that includes housing, mental health, medical, youth justice, education & employment, and community services. We take a strengths-based and trauma-informed approach to our work and center the needs of young people impacted by racism and other forms of oppression and marginalization. Founded in 1972, Face to Face serves more than 3,000 youth annually.

    JOB SUMMARY:

    The Resource Navigator is responsible for managing inventory, purchasing, and organization of the Resource Room at SafeZone, a day shelter for youth experiencing homelessness. The Resource Room provides youth with clothing, food, and hygiene products. This position includes determining needs, securing stock from vendors and donors, and picking up donations as needed.

    This position is 37.5 hours a week.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Resource Room

    • Maintain organization and operation of the Resource Room, including the food shelf, clothing closet, and hygiene supplies
    • Procure goods from outside partners such as Loaves and Fishes and Second Harvest
    • Pick up goods from partner organizations and vendors
    • Collaborate with Community Engagement team for procurement of donations
    • Stock and maintain inventory logs of Resource Room
    • Manage data entry of resources provided out of the Resource Room
    • Manage processing of donations, preparing them for distribution
    • Perform other duties as assigned

    Supportive Services

    • Engage with youth at the center in a meaningful and respectful manner assisting them with various resources offered at the center or in the community
    • Maintain the daily flow of the drop-in center by helping at the front desk, in the clothing closet, computer lab, kitchen, or other areas as needed
    • Respond to crisis situations in the space and de-escalate in a calm and professional manner
    • Provide excellent customer service while greeting and checking youth into SafeZone
    • Provide access to supportive services and resources
    • Establish healthy and appropriate physical and emotional boundaries with youth
    • Support healthy adolescent development of youth
    • Document youth outcomes in all appropriate databases
    • Complete appropriate paperwork in a timely manner
    • Develop and maintain relationships agency-wide and community-wide with youth serving programs and agencies
    • Collaborate with other staff, maintain teamwork and professional working relationships with clients or other outside agencies or contacts
    • Provides all services guided by the evidence-based principles for helping youth overcome homelessness.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Minimum of B.A. degree in social services, extensive experience in lieu of degree
    • Minimum of 2 years’ experience working with youth experiencing homelessness or facing other barriers
    • Strong organizational skills
    • Experience with a positive youth development and harm reduction approach
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
    • High reliability and integrity
    • High degree of problem-solving skill
    • Positive attitude and willingness to do what it takes to meet youth needs
    • Ability to work independently, exercising good judgment and involving others when necessary
    • Good crisis management skills and the ability to navigate stressful situations well
    • Valid driver’s license and current automobile insurance required
    • Demonstrated ability to work and communicate effectively with people of diverse ethnic, economic, racial and cultural backgrounds.

    • Ability to frequently lift food and donations in/out of shopping carts and/out of vehicles
    • Valid driver’s license and current automobile insurance required; ability to travel in all MN weather conditions
    • Face to Face is subject to the government mandate requiring employee COVID vaccination and/or weekly testing. All employees will be required to get vaccinated or submit to weekly COVID testing.

    PAY & BENEFITS:

    Pay for this position is between $22.50 - $23.50 per hour based on qualifications. Face to Face also offers benefits which include health, dental, short-term disability, long-term disability, life insurance, 403b account as well as generous PTO and paid holidays.
