    JOB SUMMARY: 

    Face to Face Health and Counseling is a non-profit organization dedicated to meeting the needs of youth ages 11–24. We offer health care, counseling, and programs for homeless youth. The hotel advocate role is responsible for establishing trusting youth-adult relationships while providing supportive services for youth experiencing homelessness and temporarily housed in a local hotel. It is a temporary position.

    Total hours for this position are flexible, but availability for evenings, weekends, and/or overnights is required.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Coordinate with youth to let them into their rooms and monitor whether or not they return for the night
    • Coordinate meals with SafeZone staff including transporting meals to the hotel
    • Be available for youth in case of emergency during assigned shifts
    • Coordinate with hotel staff to maintain agency relationship
    • Perform room checks to maintain the cleanliness and habitability of the hotel rooms
    • Connect youth with supportive services at Face to Face & the broader community
    • Establish healthy and appropriate physical and emotional boundaries with youth
    • Conduct individual assessments to determine needs and goals as needed
    • Document youth outcomes in all appropriate databases
    • Complete appropriate paperwork in a timely manner
    • Develop and maintain relationships agency-wide and community-wide with youth serving programs and agencies
    • Collaborate with other staff and maintain team work style, and maintain professional working relationships with clients or other outside agencies or contacts
    • Support healthy adolescent development of youth
    • Provides all services guided by the evidence-based principles for helping youth overcome homelessness.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Minimum of 1 year experience working with the homeless or at risk youth
    • Experience with a positive youth development and harm reduction approach
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
    • Ability to work sensitively and effectively with diverse populations
    • Ability to work independently, exercising good judgment and involving others when necessary

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:

    • Ability to perform the duties outlined in the job description
    • Ability to perform duties and responsibilities typical of an office environment
    • Ability to travel in all weather conditions in MN
    • Face to Face is subject to the government mandate requiring employee COVID vaccination and/or weekly testing. All employees will be required to get vaccinated or submit to weekly COVID testing.
