    JOB SUMMARY: 

    Face to Face Health and Counseling is a non-profit organization dedicated to meeting the needs of youth ages 11–24. We offer health care, counseling, and programs for homeless youth. This grant funded position primarily provides direct clinical mental health services and intensive collateral support to youth who are in a drop-in, shelter or transitional housing environment, both at Face to Face and with partner organizations.  It also provides outpatient or in-home therapy to Face to Face clients as needed. The position is full-time at 37.5 hours a week and requires evening hours.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Provide individual, family, couple, and/or group therapy for youth in drop-in, shelter and/or transitional housing programs as well as outpatient or in-home therapy for other Face to Face clients
    • Build relationships and develop rapport necessary to engage youth in mental health services
    • Intervene appropriately in crisis situations and empower others with the skills to respond to crisis
    • Establish healthy and appropriate physical and emotional boundaries with youth and their families
    • Provide services in a cultural responsive and linguistically appropriate manner
    • Provides all services guided by the evidence-based principles for helping youth overcome homelessness
    • Collaborate with other staff and the community, the shelter team, other agencies, and collateral contacts
    • Provide in-service trainings for shelter & drop-in staff related to various applicable mental health topics quarterly
    • Participate in shelter & drop-in staff meetings to provide a mental health lens and clinical insight to situations, youth, and larger system needs
    • Attend and participate in organizational staff meetings, team consultation and supervision as required
    • Complete the Diagnostic Assessment, treatment plan, collateral documentation, and all required charting and insurance documentation in a timely manner consistent with DHS and billing requirements
    • Meet grant-specific productivity standards/target as set by department manager and supervisor
    • Keep up to date with current changes in the field through the use of supervision, appropriate conferences, training, in-services and reading
    • Practice and uphold the ethical guidelines of your licensing board
    • Uphold agency written policies concerning employment, client confidentiality, minor consent law, drug-free work place, ethical standards and other policies of the agency
    • Perform other duties as assigned

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Licensed as LMFT, LICSW or LPCC in state of MN
    • Minimum of 2 years’ experience required working effectively with diverse children and families from the socio-economic and cultural groups represented in our community
    • Ability to work independently, use time effectively, work under stress and intervene appropriately in crisis situations
    • Proven experience successfully intervening in crisis situations
    • Ability to successfully collaborate across agencies receiving services
    • Flexible schedule with ability to work evenings
    • Demonstrated ability to work and communicate effectively with people of diverse ethnic, economic, racial and cultural backgrounds

    • Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, current automobile insurance, and acceptable driving record required

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:

    • Must be able to travel in MN weather conditions to see clients in home settings as needed
    • May need to transport clients at times
