    Job Description

    Family Builders is a non-profit, licensed foster care and adoption agency, serving children and youth in the foster care and juvenile justice systems. Family Builders believes that every child has the right to grow up in a permanent, nurturing family regardless of that child’s age, race, ethnicity, gender, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity/expression, or medical, physical or emotional condition. Family Builders educates the community about the needs of waiting children, advocates on their behalf, and places children with permanent, secure families through adoption, and other forms of permanence.

    SUMMARY:

    We have an immediate opening for a part-time Program Supervisor for our Alameda County Probation Permanency Program. The Program Supervisor is responsible for the development, implementation and oversight of the program, including clinical supervision, managing work flow and assignments, and serving as the primary liaison to the Alameda County Probation Department.

     

    The Program Supervisor will coordinate agency programs that serve youth in the juvenile justice system needing permanency services with relatives and other caregivers. Supervisor will train, develop, supervise and support master’s-level clinical staff and support staff; facilitate and coordinate collaborative relationships; develop program services and oversee documentation of project activity and data collection and reporting.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    Master’s degree in social work or equivalent. Thorough knowledge of and experience working with juvenile justice and foster care/child welfare systems, including permanency.  Supervision and management experience required. Must be able to communicate effectively with youth and families.  Must have own car and be willing to travel locally. Ability to frequently remain in a stationary position, at a workstation.
