    REQUIREMENTS:

    • A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a minimum of ten years subject matter related work experience, law enforcement field and/or training experience with a major portion of this experience in the subject area to be instructed (preferred).
    • A high school education with a diploma or a GED equivalency certificate and 15 years of general law enforcement or field related experience may be substituted for a Bachelor’s Degree.
    • A Graduate degree, with a minimum of 5 years working, instructing, or conducting research in the subject area at a level exceeding the students to be taught.
    • Extensive experience handling explosives and operational safety associated with explosive operations and crime scenes.
    • Extensive experience conducting EOD or IED mitigation operations.
    • Experience in Post Blast training and investigations.
    •  Experience developing intelligence for use in exercise scenarios
    • Experience working around live explosives and be fully knowledgeable of downrange explosive operations and safety.
    • Experience evaluating complex improvised explosive devices and testifying as to the functioning of these devices in court proceedings.

     

    CAPABILITIES:

    1. Conducting all EOD related duties during the execution of the exercise.
    2. Monitoring and guiding explosives operations and actions during the exercise for the safety of all participants and staff, for use in Hot Wash and After Action Reviews, and to facilitate the latest technological threats in the Improvised Explosive Device (IED) arena.
    3. Supporting other interests at the exercise such as providing explosives control, intelligence generation, and logistical support for site development and execution.
    4. Supporting law enforcement operations/exercises with downrange support of explosive operations and creating the scenarios and documenting the results with technical proficiency.
    5. Training the Observer/Controllers (OC) in the application of intelligence, explosive operations, and post blast scene investigation.
    6. Training the OCs in the proper use of technical equipment to support the Exercise, therefore, they must be experienced law enforcement instructors.
    7. Physically lifting heavy equipment and operating in remote areas in travel status for up to 15-30 days.
    8. Selecting, installing, maintaining and troubleshooting/repairing technical equipment used to support the Exercise.
    9. Supporting live fire explosive operations, and providing a vast working knowledge of explosives defeat operations.
    10. Organizing and leading a team comprised of evaluators and operators from multiple personnel from Federal Agencies; Military and local law enforcement.
