FASTSIGNS of East Dallas is looking for a talented and dedicated Graphic Designer to join our team! The work environment is fast-paced, challenging, and rewarding! Base pay is hourly and negotiable based on experience. Our regular work schedule is Monday through Friday with occasional opportunities for overtime.

The Graphic Designer will be responsible for designing and laying out files, working with customer-supplied files, prepress and output to Vinyl Cutters, Roll-to-Roll Printers, Laser Engraver and CNC Router/Engraver. This position is also responsible for operating and maintaining the Plotters and Printers. Must be proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, and have good technical skills.

Primary responsibilities include:

File set up and output to the plotter, printers, CNC and laser engraver

Maintenance of plotter and printers

Design layouts

Use proper file extensions and formats

Must work with the ability to output to the best production method and help identify opportunities to improve our business and workflow. This position demands someone that is detail-oriented, organized and good at time management. Integrity and a strong work ethic are valued.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Works with co-workers and customers to produce eye-catching visual graphics in a timely manner and assists with file transfers, photo library options, online proofs, etc.

Inspects jobs for accuracy before sending them to the plotter, printer or other machines

Creates proofs and sends to customers using the online proofing system

Maintains all equipment including computers, plotters, and printers

Maintains accurate electronic and paper records

Helps unload raw materials and cleans and maintains storage areas

Works on different projects simultaneously

Helps in the production area as needed

Loads materials on/into printers and/or laminator, which may require some heavy lifting

Establishes and maintains effective team relationships with all support departments

Follows all company policies, procedures, and business ethics codes

Performs other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or GED required

Strong PC and Mac skills

Adobe Creative Suite proficiency is required

G Suite proficiency is preferred

Bilingual (Spanish) is helpful

Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplying, and dividing whole numbers and fractions and converting fractions to decimals and vice versa)

Strong organizational skills

Previous sign or print industry experience preferred

Very strong communication and interpersonal skills

Previous experience with laser engravers and/or mechanical engravers/routers preferred
