    We are looking for a Graphic Designer / Production Specialist who possesses the maturity, passion, and energy to collaborate with others on the team. We need someone who can see beyond what is presented, design something that excites and inspires, but can appreciate there is also a place for simple, clean, and eye-catching designs.

    As a Graphic Designer / Production Specialist, your responsibility will be to create computer-generated full-color graphics and output vinyl that can be weeded, cut, and applied, or printed and mounted to various products from cars, to substrates, and buildings. You will also be responsible for all aspects of the physical construction and assembling of signs, including proofreading and conducting quality assurance to ensure the accuracy of signs. Your job will involve various levels of artistic creativity and you may interact with customers to ensure complete satisfaction with the final product.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Works with co-workers and customers with file transfers, FTP access, photo library options, online proofs, etc.

    Inspects jobs for accuracy before sending them to the plotter or printer

    Provides proofs as necessary

    Maintains accurate electronic and paper record of File Storage and Disks

    Follows a layout to place computer-generated vinyl or full color graphic images on a pre-determined substrate or medium

    Prepares substrates for application

    Performs finishing operations such as laminating, encapsulating, and/or mounting of printed pieces

    Installs signs when necessary

    Performs other duties as needed, such as answering the phone, helping at the front counter, consulting with customers, etc.

    Prepare comprehensive illustrations, sketches, layouts, and copy for print reproduction according to instructions of client or supervisor.

    Image Sourcing: locate photos, understand copyright laws and release/usage requirements, knowledge of resources to buy stock images, work with service bureaus to create output beyond store capability, and understand resolution options and optimal enlargement specifications from image vendors and image originals.

    Follow a layout to place computer-generated vinyl or full color graphic image(s) on a pre-determined substrate or medium.

    Prepare substrates for application. This may include cutting, painting, laminating, cleaning and maintaining the substrates for application.

    Maintain and operate printer(s) as required. Printers may include solvent ink, latex ink and/or UV curable ink.

    Perform quality assurance measures pre- and post-construction by accurately reading and interpreting a Work Order and then proofing for errors or unacceptable standards (bubbles, rough edges, loose seams).

    QUALIFICATIONS

    High school diploma or GED required; advanced education degree preferred

    Experience as a graphic designer, sign-related computer operator, or in desktop publishing required, including an advanced level of experience using Adobe applications

    Strong PC and Mac skills and internet, publishing software, and sign production software skills. Must know how to use Adobe Design Suite, including but not limited to Photoshop, Acrobat, Premiere Pro or After Effects, InDesign, and Illustrator

    Strong hands on, verbal and written communication skills

    Basic math skills (adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing whole numbers and fractions and converting fractions to decimals and vice versa)

    Able to work well under pressure to output high volume, high quality work

    Able to stand for long periods of time

    Able to lift 50 or more pounds

    Must have the flexibility to lean over a waist-high table and use back and forth hand motions to apply vinyl letters and graphics to a substrate

    Able to use light power equipment

    Serve as a backup for answering the phone if the franchisee, manager and sales/service employees are busy assisting other customers. Assist at the front counter as needed.
