Job Type: Full-Time Pay: Based on Experience + Performance Bonus Opportunities Schedule: Extended hours, weekends, holidays, and peak-season availability required

Position Overview

Sandbox Logistics, Inc. is seeking a strong, hands-on Business Contact (BC) / Operations Manager to lead daily FedEx Ground Pickup & Delivery operations.

The BC is responsible for the overall execution of the operation, including driver training and development, route completion, staffing, safety, service performance, fleet readiness, and daily problem-solving.

This is a fast-paced leadership position for someone who can manage people, make quick decisions, and take ownership of results.

Key Responsibilities

Ensure all scheduled routes are staffed, dispatched, and completed every day

Recruit, onboard, train, coach, and develop drivers

Conduct driver ride-alongs and performance evaluations

Manage daily dispatch, driver schedules, attendance, and call-outs

Monitor routes throughout the day and coordinate rescues when necessary

Maintain strong safety, service, scanning, and pickup performance

Ensure compliance with company, FedEx Ground, and DOT requirements

Conduct safety meetings and assist with accident/incident investigations

Monitor fleet readiness and coordinate vehicle maintenance and repairs

Develop contingency plans for driver call-outs, breakdowns, and unexpected volume

Monitor payroll, overtime, fuel usage, and operating expenses

Communicate daily operational performance to company leadership

Help develop Lead Drivers, Trainers, and future operational leaders

Qualifications

Previous management or operations leadership experience required

Transportation, logistics, delivery, or FedEx Ground experience strongly preferred

Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills

Experience managing and training employees

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record

Experience with GroundCloud, DRO, dispatch, routing, or similar systems is a plus

Schedule Requirements

This is not a traditional 8-to-5 management position.

The BC must be available for early mornings, extended hours, weekends, holidays, peak seasons, and operational emergencies as needed. The successful candidate understands that leadership is responsible for ensuring the operation is covered and all routes are completed daily.
