Fiber to the Home Technician A Fiber to the home technician is responsible for installing, preparing, and troubleshooting fiber optic cables and systems. They have a good understanding of the types of cabling techniques from tap to ONT. technician should handle any issues related to the optical fiber install process. Cat 5/6, wireless routers, home phone and all equipment related to installation and service of fiber to the home. Job Duties ◊ Responsible for acquiring equipment for installation and service of fiber to the home. ◊ Installation and service of home phone systems ◊ Installation and service of wireless routers. ◊ Installation and service of CAT 5/6 ◊ Trouble shoot recommendations for improvements or modifications to resolve any technical issues. ◊ Maintains equipment and power supplies to cordless tools and makes sure they are fully charged.
