  • Responsibilities

    The Fixed Income Strategist works closely with the Trading desk in developing product-based ideas and analytics that support the business in the generation of revenue. The Strategist is required to be fluent in the technical aspects of Fixed Income products and their associated characteristics including cash flow, yields, pricing, and prepay models. This position performs quantitative analysis applying computational financial techniques, data science, and forecasting/modeling methodology to transactional market data in support of product development.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Apply computational, mathematical, and statistical techniques in support of fixed income trading.
    • Maintain existing quantitative processes and develop new core analytical capabilities or model libraries, using advanced statistical and quantitative techniques.
    • Devise or apply independent models or tools to help verify results of analytical systems.
    • Assist Trading and Sales with client interactions in response to both specific client needs and generic market analysis.
    • Interpret results of analytical procedures and recommends new processes and or action plans.
    • Work closely with trading, technology and model validation teams to improve product offering.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Ability to use current computational finance and data science techniques to research and develop appropriate quantitative factors for us by trading algorithms.
    • Strong knowledge of programming skillset, Python, R, and SQL.
    • Detail oriented and self-motivated.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    • Minimum required: Graduate degree in computational finance or financial engineering.
    • Minimum required: 0-3 years related experience.

    LICENSES AND CREDENTIALS

    • Minimum required: none

    SYSTEMS AND TECHNOLOGY

    • Proficient id Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook.
    • Knowledge of time-series data platforms (q/KDB+, etc.).
